Deere???

IN that size range, I am of the opinion other manufacturers are a better choice. I purchased in that range and ended up on Mahindra. Kubota was 2nd and Deere 3rd in my personal rankings. I did not look at Kioti.

Maybe true but writing in a clear and concise manner is always helpful in any communication.

I guess I am leaning toward Deere because of their popularity around me, the performance record of deere tractors around me, and price. The Deere tractor is about $4000 cheaper than Kubota. Have not been around mahindra, so I don't know. I'm a little gun shy of Kubota. In the 80's and early 90's, Kubota didn't make much of a tractor. Maybe they have fixed some of that. I'm stopping at 25 HP because I don't trust this new emissions stuff. At 25 HP they are exempt of the emission stuff. Just the way I'm thinking and leaning. I might take a look at mahindra.

I have had a few Deere tractors and I liked them all. If I remember correctly was it you who has had lots of trouble with your Massey or maybe that was someone else.

I like my Massey as well as my 2305 Deere. I haven't looked at Mahindra at all because there are no dealers in my area, I have looked at Kubota and Kioti, There just not for me. Best thing to do is take your time and look them over good, sit on them all and you should know right away comparing them which one is for you. IMO they all make good products but are all a little different.

If you saw a $4000 difference, you where priced the wrong model. The Deere sits between the B2650 and L2501... less tractor than an L, about the same capacities as the B but the Deere is a tad larger.

Competitively, the Deere 3E is one of their least competitive tractors against about any other brand. I bite my tongue to say this.. I'd buy a Mahindra over a Deere 3E.. i think that little of it.

One of my big concerns with the Deere is the cast iron in the loader. Cast breaks pretty easy, and their loader looks a little flimsy. Other that that, I got a lot of faith in deere and their equipment. I just don't want to get into the same mess that I got into with my Massey.

We are considering a Deere. Funny thing is some people here get very touchy when you say that and suggest this or that brand should be looked at and claim its far better and for less $$$.

Phillip,

Let's agree you are an excitable person and not an easy fellow to please. I say this not to fight but to make a point. I have operated many deere tractors in the past, 7400, 730, 5075M, and now 5125R. I do NOT believe you will find expected deere quality in less than a 4000 M or R series. The 3 series has an aluminum rear axle housing which may not be durable long term. The engine hood is flimsy as engine access is poor. Actually I have little use for the whole E series line, top to bottom,

Messick's has a valid point. There must be "confusion" somewhere, kubota would never be priced $4k more than deere, Not usually a gambler, but that is a sure bet.

The emissions equipment is nothing to fear, an army of TBN members will attest to that.

I suspect your MF was too small, never could compete w/ the Allis . In this case, buy enough tractor.

Kubota note, Many of those old kubotas you criticize, are owned, and in service today, right on this very TBN kubota forum.

Dude, the 80s were almost forty years ago. Long time to carry a grudge. As noted, Deere is not less expensive than Kubota by any stretch. If you are comfy with Deere, then just buy one. They're fine machines but not better than LS or Kubota or Kioti and sure as heck not cheaper to buy or maintain.
