So, I did a search but I quickly got confused since none of the other threads seemed to address my specific problem. Few month old CK2610, I was working the loader last weekend pretty hard and this problem developed. Everything seems fine except the bucket when dumped has 4-6" of free travel before it stops. I don't know if I'm using the right terminology, so here are some pics:

Loader just touching the ground, but no down pressure:

See the bucket curl when putting downforce on the loader arms?

It's kind of hard to see at the angle, but basically it retracts 4-6" then stops. Hydraulic fluid level is fine, and the bucket doesn't droop or dump in the other direction... Any ideas?

Thanks!

Run bucket to there stops both ways and see if goes away. Might have to do it 2 or 3 times, has air in the system.

It seems like any air should have worked its way out by now, but I値l give it a try! Another clue, slight smell of hydraulic fluid, but no visible leaks or puddles.

Try disconnecting the hydraulic quick connectors (after relieving system pressure) for the curl cylinders, then re-connect . Cycle the hydraulics a few times an see if it is still happening.

This worked like a charm! I disconnected everything, cleaned up the QC's with WD-40 and reconnected. Cycled the all loader functions stop to stop half a dozen times and everything seems to be back to normal.

Thanks!

This problem of having the floppy bucket may return. Some loaders are more prone to this than others.

The floppy bucket is caused by the bucket being dumped do to the load faster than the cylinders are being filled with oil. Installing a flow control or an orifice in the rod end circuit of the dump cylinders will reduce or stop this problem

Good to hear. A small leak can emit vaporized hydraulic fluid, you can smell it, but might not be able to see it when the line is pressurized. When reversing the flow it can suck air into the system, or as the hot fluid cools down and contracts, it can also allow more air in. I had similar symptoms with a pinhole leak on a curl cylinder weld, but always try the easy stuff first:thumbsup:.

What if I crush up some Viagra and add it to the hydro tank??? Haha...

The fast cycling makes sense, I was on it for a few hours and got impatient towards the end. I値l keep an eye on my operation and see if it returns.
