You don't need it but some kid down the line might try something unwise and that switch might just prevent something bad happening.
Fair enough. I've run construction sites for 37 years. There have been several accidents involving carpenters during that time. Worker's comp has a accident report form that I have to fill out. In each case I have had to answer no to the question were all guards in place at the time of the accident. In each case the guards would have prevented the accident. Safeties and guards are silly until you are in the waiting room of the surgical center waiting to find out if they saved the hand. The only thing worse is what can happen in farm accidents. This isn't a political issue nor should it be made out to be. People get distracted and use poor judgement. I recovered from my severe burns at age 20 and they reattached my finger at age 24. Both incidents were caused by a momentary lapse in judgement. I am irritated by the safety switch on my tractor. I am more irritated by the safety switch on my zero turn mower. I could easily just bend that one to maintain contact. I won't.
