Super UDT2 in a Kioti

JD20C trans/hydro fluid is the same spec as Mobilfluid 424 and available at every Fleet store and NAPA in the nation.

I noticed after replacing my fluid with SUDT2 that the loader responds MUCH faster after startup when cold, HST is quieter as well. Overall just seems to run better.

The SUDT2 has very good specs and in fact has the best viscosity index of any UTF I have seen. I use Klondike full syn in my Kioti because the price is reasonable and it has better low pour point specs than the SUDT2. The SUDT2 is a low viscosity UTF, lower than most I’ve seen, which would make the hydraulics flow faster, however, I think the Klondike would out-perform it in really cold weather; ie -35C.

marchanna,

Where did you buy the Klondike oil? I see there is a distribution warehouse in Moncton but they don't list any resellers on their website?

My DK40 should have a hydro oil change before winter arrives.

Did my 50 hour on my CK3510SE today. Bought two 5 gallon buckets of the SUDT2 for $103 each. Took it for a spin afterwards so far so good. As far as quieter hard to say since it was 100 degrees out and tractor was still warm from before the oil change.

Just changed the fluid in the CK27 at 650 hrs. I went with Shell Spirax S4 TXM......Kioti approved. Got 2/ 5 gal pails at $45 a pail. Tractor runs fine, can't see spending $100 a pail when there is equal fluids far less. I got mine at the local Shell distributor which you will find is much cheaper.

Look - there has got to be a point where I say - - STOP!!! When the hydraulic fluid I put in my tractor costs more than the whiskey I drink.....................

Perhaps you should look into a little higher grade of whiskey?:D

Super UDT2 and Shell spirax s4 thx are two totally different fluids. UDT2 has a JD20D spec and the Spirax has a JD20C spec. I had a JD20C spec fluid in my CK35 and it was to high a viscosity for the PA winters. I would have to warm up hydro fluid for 25 min before I could drive the tractor. I could lift the loader, but it would be into relief until the fluid was warm. With the Super UDT2, I can now start the tractor and start working.
Any fluid rated for hydraulics and wet brakes should be fine, just choose the temp range you will be operating in.

As long as one is using their own attachments, keeps their QA, QDs capped and plugged and stores the machine where rain/snow or other water cannot enter the hydraulics, one should be able to maintain system integrity without a lot of effort. If fluid becomes contaminated or milky- a sign of water contamination, then change it out.

I didn't realize water could get into the hydraulics just by the tractor getting rained on. I don't have a covered area to park yet, just a tarp. Would like more information on how this could happen. Thanks!
