Mallard - I like the way you drive the tractor also - ha,ha,ha. Very nice splitter. Brings back old memories of sore muscles.

Certainly better than a maul and wedges. But re-affirms why I like my stand-alone. That thing is SLOOOWWW. Have you though about putting a rapid-extend (regen) valve on it to at least speed up the extend a bit?

No I'm pretty happy with its speed. Might put a 4 way wedge on it to speed things up .

Same here. My splitter will cycle the 30” stroke in 13 seconds. It’s got a stop to limit the stroke to less if you’re not splitting 30” wood that makes it faster. Then I use my tractor to lift big pieces on the splitter.

Glad I wasnt the only one that though it was painfully slow. Mine will do ~8-9 seconds out and back. Splittin a cord or two a year, its probably ok. Wouldnt want to split 20-30 cord a year with that one though

Beats splitting by hand like I used to. Everybody's situation is different
