I am tired all the time. But medically I am good to go. So for me, that is just the way it is. I cannot recall my self saying I was tired all the time in my younger years, but time has a habit of fogging some memories.

I'd try and switch up the routine. Introduce some exercise plan, or some time management plans, maybe change your sleep hours. Diet changes too, less or more caffeine, more or less fruits and veggies, anything to "see" how you feel. Take notes too, write it out. How you feel, on a scale. Try it... good luck!

I just don't seem to have enough energy these days. Probably just a matter of getting older. I'm 69.

Any vitamins/supplements you use that seem to help? Maybe something your doctor prescribed that's working? I need a little boost to get me out of the easy chair and into the chores.

You take any Blood Pressure Meds ??
Warn/Hot weather and some BP meds will zap your energy.
Best thing I found in the summer is get up at sun rise and get things done before 10 or 11 am.

If you're 69 you ought to see a doctor to make sure you don't have anything besides old age. At 69 you should have Medicare, your visit might be covered free as Medicare provides an annual wellness visit for most people so little problems don't turn into big expensive problems.
Ask around to find a Doc you'll be comfortable with.

That was a buzz kill. Not really looking for a diagnosis, just a general discussion. Maybe a "this worked for me" type thing.

Sorry -I’ve spent a lot of time in medicine and want to see you get this figured out.

I started to type stuff about vitamins I take etc and deleted it. I take most things under a homeopath’s care after visits and testing. I wouldn’t want you to start taking something and feel better- only to find out later you were just masking something more serious. Or recommend something like high dose Vitamin D (something my wife and I are on) without knowing if that is right for you.
I can tell you I am a recent convert or believer in listening to/seeing a homeopathic DOCTOR. My wife went and it changed her life! WOW!! After all the testing he recommended simple stuff- adrenal support, fish oil and vitamin D. Nothing that can’t be bought online- within a few days the symptoms she struggled with for years were nearly gone.
I’ve struggled with energy for years and was told by my PMD everything came back normal. I’m now trying a homeopath (just had the first visit) and will see what the tests say and how the tx goes.

So I guess to more directly answer your question- try a homeopath DOCTOR. I’ve had and seen good results in my family. PS- I am the last guy you would see in a homeopath’s office! I have/had perceived moral and intellectual objections to the stuff.....but I can’t argue the results.

As for the fool comment- that quote has been in the medical field for years! We see it all the time- someone will say well I’ve had this for a few months now but I thought it was this or I thought it would go away. Now they have a much bigger problem. That is where the quote comes from- ignoring and or self diagnosis can lead to much bigger issues- and none of want to see that! We all want you to get a good diagnosis, good tx and have many more years with plenty of energy!

BTW- tell the wife we all said it was low testosterone and you will be a raging bull in now time!!!!

Yep, the OP needs to go to a Doctor and at least get some blood work done.

I went for a checkup a few years ago and found my level of vitamin D was very low. You can boost your vitamin D level by eating fish, exposure to sun, or taking supplements. I don't want any more sun exposure so I got into the habit of taking supplements, including vitamin D. The all in one vitamin pills make me sick so I take a handful of supplements twice a day.

After taking supplements my level of D was up to a good point but I took a bit more and started eating more fish. I need to get another blood test done to see where the numbers are now.

Since taking the supplements, and I am only taking normal vitamins and minerals in regular amounts, I did notice my energy level increase a bit. Not a lot but some. I do feel "tired" though and it is mental, not physical, and I know it is job related, but that is a different topic.

The OP should go for a checkup, see the blood results, take supplements as needed, and make sure nothing else is wrong.

Later,
Dan
