The one that is 1 1/2 from you is 2 1/2 away from me! Assuming you are talking Morganton. Never been to it, but stopped at the one in Sweetwater, TN a few weeks ago after spending a few days in the area. Very nice. Overwhelming actually. But they got a couple hundred of my $$ so I guess we both are happy. lol

One thing that scares me about these lower cost tractors is what areas are being skimped on to get a foothold in this market. You don't get anything free in this world and I know people will say well JD, Kubota have issues as well, but a lot of the lower cost tractors have stuff wrong with them that should have never made it past the design phase. Case in point look at the LS xg3025 and LS basically have to rebuild part of the frame. There is a video on youtube of a guy that bought a 30K LS XR4155 and according to what the dealer told the guy, every tractor on his lot could not turn the steering wheel while there was a load on the bucket. When I saw the video I knew it had to be more than just this one tractor and the dealer confirmed it.

The local Kmart closed this year. I’ve heard a RK is opening there, but I haven’t seen any signs yet. I sure hope it’s true.

We now have 3 RKs here in the Knoxville area. Closest one to me is in Sweetwater....1/2 hr away. 2 of the stores were old K Mart stores.

I understand why you ask the question but it is actually the opposite. RK Tractors are premium spec, fully loaded, very heavy, with Yanmar engines and the longest powertrain warranty. The reason we can sell at such low prices is simple. Every other U.S. market brand goes from manufacturer to selling to a dealer. The dealer then sells to the tractor buyer. We buy from the tractor manufacturer, built in our brand and to our specifications and we sell directly to the tractor buyer. Our tractor manufacturer is TYM, the largest tractor manufacturer in Korea, and second largest manufacturer of under 60HP tractors sold in the U.S., behind only Kubota. Very few people know that. Mahindra USA also buys tractors from TYM (different engines and specs) but then sell them to Mahindra dealers, who sell the tractor buying public. RK Tractors are priced low because we sell directly to tractor buyers, bypassing dealers. The 115 Rural Stores are basically dealerships that we own. Hope that helps to understand why our prices are so low.

We have an old Kmart store that shut down but it is in a mall that is falling apart so I doubt they will buy that.

I have two Rural Kings near me, one about 7 miles away the other about 13 miles away. Neither one keeps shelves stocked well, if it is hydraulic fittings good luck on them having two of the same fitting. The fence section is stocked once in a while, I bought them out of high tensile tension springs and it was over 2 months before they had more on the shelf. The stores are usually a cross between filthy and dirty, they look great when they first open then run downhill fairly quick it seems. Roof leak..... place a bucket under the leak keep emptying it. The restrooms, while nice that they offer restrooms, typically I can find cleaner ones at the most run down gas station you've ever seen... I hate going in them even for a standup job.

Lastly the management.... whether it is the Carbondale or Murphysboro, IL store if you go in between 3 and 4:30 any afternoon through the week be prepared to wait 5 or 6 deep in line for the one maybe two cashiers working and the several empty checkout lanes. Yes I know they aren't the only retail establishment that does this but good night when every day is busy at the same time then staff the place accordingly. On a good day you can watch a certain manager apologizing to customers for having sub par employees that won't answer a radio to come help as a cashier and berating the ones that were working.

So, you want a Rural King, come take either of mine and leave a Bucheiitts or Tractor Supply co.

Yeah that is also a concern about how they will handle the service department. Good help hard to find.
