Are there any major interesting changes in tractor models for 2018?

It seems most manufacturers have spent the last handful of years concentrating on meeting emissions requirements. Now that the emissions are pretty much met, I’m curious if they’ve had enough time to make any meaningful/useful changes?

I don’t believe Kubota has anything groundbreaking. I was hoping Deere would come out with a factory cab 2xxx series but don’t think so.

This is probably 2017 news, but Yanmar recently introduced their "integrated hydro-mechanical transmission" (iHMT) in their YT347/359 tractors which is infinitely variable like an HST but is more efficient, putting more power to the ground, and is removable for improved serviceability.

I think that's a pretty a pretty big deal in the tractor world. Here's a video:

Haven't heard nor seen anything yet for Kubota other than couple bells etc.

Just wonder how much it costs to repair that transmission if/when it fails?

Kubota is up to something - such as: improved engine efficiency so that the Tier 4 emission equipment is no longer needed to meet EPA requirements. Something like that - you mean.

Don't think any diesel can run clean enough not to need the tree-hugger equipment. Wish they did cause that stuff causes more problems than it fixes.

Well, Mahindra introduced a small but well-equipped model for 2018: The eMax 20S. Has the SSQA FEL, lift capacity 680 lbs on the FEL, 1,100 lbs on the 3-P, and 8.3" ground clearance and large displacement for the size. Plus some features I wish I had on my larger model like an upgraded seat with armrests and retractable seatbelts, and a one-piece hood. They seem to retail for around $10k. Sounds like a handy little chore tractor. My dealer says he's selling them like hotcakes. (I was seriously tempted....)
