I'm still trying to pull my boot out of my you know what after talking to AGCO this afternoon.

I have a 2014 GC1705 that has 224 hours on the clock, I had air getting into the fuel system, took me three weeks of an hour here and there to figure out there is something wrong with my injection pump, no air going in and air coming out of the return line which was causing a slow to start after sitting, the air would get purged into the fuel tank and then while the tractor sat for several hours the air would cause the fuel to leak back into the pump and empty the injector lines.

So I remove the pump and send it the pump guy in SC (Mike) very nice, helpful guy. He received it today for a rebuild.

I decide to email AGCO a couple of days ago and express my concerns about a defective pump at just over 200 hours, today I get a phone call from my local dealer (65 miles away) and they tell me AGCO contacted them and told them to come get my tractor and fix it and AGCO would pay the bill.. They tell me the Injector pump, injectors and all parts of the fuel systems are part of emissions and it is a covered repair beyond the normal warranty, I had no clue this was the case. I would have never did what I did if I knew that, I doubt there are many that do know that.

So I write this thread for one reason, to let folks know if you have a fuel related issue with your tractor and you are beyond your warranty, give the local dealer a call, it might be worth it to do so.

They also told me if I get the pump back and I still have an issue to call them and they will come get it, fix it and return it to me at no cost to me, that's pretty good of them if you ask me..

Just curious, why did you not contact your dealer at the onset of your problem?

I figured I was way to far into ownership for them to cover anything. Trust me I wish I had but how do you know..

It’s always a good idea to just run it by them, you never know and a call is free

Your right I should have and I paid for it..

The thread was aimed to let folks know the emissions system is under a different warranty structure, I don't think everyone knows that hence why I posted..

I had a issue with a company called Hayneedle who sold canopies. I was doing a survey and rated them real low on quality because of scratched poles.

Then a caption popped up that asked if I talked to someone about it.So I opened a chat line with them, they asked what can we do to make this right.

Asked me do I want to return it or receive a discount. I said how much of a discount. They knocked off 50%. Yea baby!

So much for AGCO doing anything they told me they would do and the dealer hasn't a clue what they are doing..

I fixed the problem a few days ago, it was a tough one and it being my first time working on a diesel didn't help but I don't think even the best mechanic could have fixed it any sooner.

So the shutoff solenoid would creep out while the tractor sat for a few hours and it would do it enough to push on the rack and keep it from starting. I found this out by turning the key to the glow plugs and then turning the key off (which in turn put power to the solenoid and pushed it out) and then go to start which in turn took power from the solenoid and it sucked the shaft back in then it would start instantly. I removed the solenoid and left it plugged in, within two hours the shaft moved out 3/4 inch by itself, took me weeks to figure that one out..

I probably would have found it sooner if while using the tractor it would shutdown by itself, it was coming that's for sure and probably when was 0F outside..
