I have a problem with my L4600. When the key is in the on position and then you depress the clutch, the starter engages. So after it is running and you once again press the clutch, the starter will engage again. If you think about it logically, the starter switch must be shorting to the start position when in the on position. By pressing in the clutch it is closing the clutch switch contact.

Does anyone have any tips for the ignition remove and replace?

Thanks

Yep. I never had this type of destruction from mice. In the process of building a hobby garage that will have a “mouse killer” living in it.

Electrical tape each individual wire, then wrap the bundle in electrical tape.

Or....see if a connector with leads is available. Then strip harness back to good wire and install new leads using a solder connector.

I know Honda is having a real problem with mice eating wiring. Their issue is that the sheathing on the wires is made from soybean oil, and the mice love it. Do you suppose Kubota uses the same type of plastic for thier looms?

Regardless, one way or another I would definitely strip the harness back to good wire and replace the exposed damaged wiring.

Take more pictures along the way and and be sure to mark each individual wire for identification before cutting any of them. It can be a slow process, but certainly doable.

I can’t find new pin connectors for the plug but there is enough wire to solder a new one on or if the copper in good, I used shrink tube. I’ll be able to make a stout repair once finished. They had anti rodent tape at the local auto electric store and it was $45 per roll!

How many pins on that plug?
