L4600 Suspected faulty ignition

I think there were 12. I didn't take a picture but after closer inspection, I was able to use heat shrink tube to seal the bare copper on about half the wires and then solder new pigtails on the pins after releasing them. Then I spliced the pigtail onto the existing harness wires. Worked perfect and it's a robust repair. I hope they don't come back.

I can稚 find new pin connectors for the plug but there is enough wire to solder a new one on or if the copper in good, I used shrink tube. I値l be able to make a stout repair once finished. They had anti rodent tape at the local auto electric store and it was $45 per roll!

Anti-rodent tape !!?? You gotta be kidding !! Just stop and think what this must mean in terms of how hideously common it is for mice/rodents to damage electrical wiring ! Holy cow.

Sitting at the Denver airport waiting for a flight right now... A year or 2 ago there were a bunch of news reports about rabbits eating wiring in the longterm parking lots here. Heard mentions of soy based products in newer cars contributing to the problem.

We deploy an ecologically devastating solution to the critter problem. Her name is Torty & as with most of her kind is a psychopath that loves killing for fun. Nicely enough she leaves the chickens alone & lives in the chicken coop. Although she also works the barn to protect my tractor.
