No following here, was passing a line of cars he was in, at least he wasn't driving like an idiot to boot.I wouldn't have followed him long enough to take a picture either.
Need to Re-mount my dash cam so I can get pics next time.

I have seen this many times. I used to work 3rd shift, driving to work at 11 at night on a 3-lane highway, no-one else on the road and some jerk needs to ride my bumper. Pull into a different lane and he zooms way up to the next car on the horizon and rides his tail. Whatever...
The other one is people getting behind a truck and getting mad because they can't see around them and the truck won't get out of their way. Hey, if you backed up two car lengths you could SEE that you have completely empty lanes to pass on either side. Nope, staying right there headlights to mudflaps getting steaming mad.
Same in VA, actually it's a ticketable offense to travel in the left lane. Va troopers did a campaign about a year ago and it got better for a little while, they need to do it again! In both Indiana and KY, you are supposed to be in center or right lane except to pass. No one will ever tailgate you in the left lane... if you're not in it.
I hate the people who drive "on my shoulder" in the passing (left) lane while I drive in the driving (right) lane. They'll just sit right there next to my left rear bumper. And if I slow down hoping they'll complete the pass, they slow down too!!
Just accept that fact that others don't share your habits and desires and try to not be in anyone else's way or make them do something unsafe. This goes for everyone.
I learned the two second rule, but that was well over 40 years ago. Prior to that it was a car length for every mile per hour. I will say that even with ABS stopping distance has probably decreased over the last couple decades, but they still need somebody to work that brake pedal.
I drive 3hrs Tuesday Morning and Friday evening. I drive my wife's Audi S6 which has some 'get up'.
I get severely frustrated when people drive in the left/fast lane but simply go the speed limit. I understand the thinking, but it isn't their place to enforce the law. I typically travel about 10mph over the limit on the interstate. It is the typical 'travel speed' in the fast lane.
Invariably, when I get anywhere close to Ohio (Cincinnati area) there is someone (usually several someones) with Ohio plates, who refuse to get over. THIS is the dangerous driving... not flow of traffic speeding, but traffic blockages where people look for ways to 'go around' the blockage rather than are able to simply drive by the guy.
I have no issue with him driving whatever speed he wants... he just needs to be in either the center or right lane. And I'd shoot every 'Brake checker' on the spot if I didn't have to get to work by 8am. That power-trip BS is just an issue waiting to happen. It is absolutely Illegal. And puts far more people at risk, than the guy traveling quickly in the fast lane.
Until THAT GUY locks himself to my shoulder- usually after closely tailgating me when I drive at a deliberately faster-than-the-driving-lane-speed in the left lane to make my pass, which means that instead of being able to continue to cruise at my set speed [I love my cruise-control]- I have to brake to get him to pass or get stuck behind the next slow boat.
Remember 2 wrongs don't make a right.
But 2 rights DO make a left.
Not my pics, but this happened a couple miles from my place on the Trans Canada Highway. Some contractor truck left a bunch of tools and axes loose on his truck and they all flew off on the highway. Unfortunately they were not identified as the owner of this new F150 probably had some other things on his mind at the time!
It's unfortunate he wasn't caught because he needs to go to jail.
Yes, the faster person needs to try to not impact others by giving folks in front reasonable time to pass at their speed. That assumes that the front person is driving more than 0.001 mph faster than the person to their right, of course!
I think that would be 3 rights...
I'm not sure why some people have to SLOW DOWN to pass someone going slower then them .
It's usually that left lane hog that sat on my left shoulder for the last 3 miles & trapped me behind other traffic in the right lane where I drive.

I touched base on this a few days ago, but the discussion got rather heated so I believe that I deleted my posts. Some people think that it's funny to mess with their fellow motorists. I've had people straddle the lane so that I couldn't get past; or speed up 30 mph when they get to a truck lane, only to slow down when they come to the end of the passing lane. Worst case was when I was on my way home after a long day, the guy would slow w-a-y down until I passed, then speed up and go by me, only to slow down again. Twice I pulled over and read a book for a few minutes because I was getting POed; only to have him waiting for me 1/2 mile down the road. That is another oddity in the psychology of drivers. I've seen that over and over in my many years of driving. And then when they pass that vehicle they will speed up and make it harder for you to pass them even if they go back into the right lane.
A similar but kind of opposite psychology situation happens when driving on roads that are mostly 1 lane in either direction but split into two every so often as a passing lane. Drivers around here (MN) will INVARIABLY speed up when you get to 2 lanes and make it hard to get around but will then slow right back down when the road goes to 1 lane.
It's as if everyone on the road is trying to be a pain in the a55 in whatever way they can. It has led me to form my own internal mantra, which is "never skip a chance to pass someone because they will always disappoint me very soon if I stay behind them." And, for the record, I am not that fast of a driver. With the flow of traffic in many cases, except some of these special situations.

They did catch the offending driver, but if memory serves me correctly he was found not guilty of any crimes.

I saw another car coming down the ramp so I figured the minivan was staying left to allow him to merge. How the tailgater managed to hit the ditch I'll never know. The suv should have braked straight as it appeared new enough to have antilock brakes.I dearly hope the recording trucker turned that tape into the police.
I also hope they can get the license plate of the mini van that willfully endangered all those people that had to dodge the victim.
I also hope the family in the vehicle that was assaulted are alright.
The mini van had plenty of time to move to the right just as the vehicle in front of him did.
He only stayed in the left lane until he could get his jollies causing the accident.
You notice, he pulled over right after & left the scene of the accident.
He NEEDS to be in PRISON before he kills someone.
