Amazon taking their time

It seems to me that Amazon will hold your order for a week before filling it if you're not a prime member. An order filled by a 3rd party usually arrives before Amazon says they're working on filling it.

yeah, and I don't like that. makes no sense - UNLESS - you're trying to sell prime memberships...

I make 90% of my purchases off Amazon.

I wouldn't be caught dead without Prime. It is the best money I spend all year.

Not to mention all the 'perks' of Prime on TV/Internet. Of which I almost never use, but think about sometimes. I just don't watch TV much, but the Movie option makes it almost as good as Netflix if you are a movie guy.

I had it, and found that anything I wanted to watch still would cost extra. I also gave up Netflix for the same reason. The big things about Prime though, is that I don't believe in paying for the "privilege" of spending money to purchase something, and I don't allow "automatic" payments... I don't even allow my Credit Union to withdraw payments.

Prime is a major source of Amazon income. They are raising it from $99 to $119. I'm thinking about dropping it, was $79 just a few years ago.

Same here, the free shipping is great and it is rare if there is an issue, when there is an issue it is usually the post office. I ordered two amplifiers off of ebay, it cost as much for shipping as my Prime membership. If I could have bought them from Amazon I would have. I ordered a CD from Amazon that shipped from Japan, it took about a week, the CD was defective and Amazon had another sent, no charge.

We do watch movies on Amazon and I stream Prime Music frequently, with the Prime Music there are a lot of groups that are hard to find elsewhere.

We buy a lot from Amazon so the Prime membership makes sense, if someone rarely buys from them it doesn't make sense.

Me thinks you done broke the code!
Amazon wants to convince you that you NEED Prime, so they deliberately put your order at the bottom of the heap.
Apparently they get a much cheaper shipping rate if they can wait to get a full trailer load for shipping to us non Prime peons.
I do not have Prime, and I never will!
I put items on my Amazon watch list, and when I have enough to qualify for free shipping, I order,..... and wait.
If the item is also sold on E-Bay, I typically order there instead, because E-Bay shipping is quick, most always free, and usually there is no tax.
Amazon now charges sales tax!

My non prime experience has been that they hold the shipment for several days at least on the free shipping. They also NEVER tell you where an item is coming from. Have been caught by the ship from china thing a couple of times. The ONLY time I use Amazon is if I can't find it cheaper on ebay. Half the time the stuff I buy off ebay comes in Amazon packaging and gets shipped same or next day. No membership fee required.
