I have a 1989 ish Ford 1720 4x4 with 1300 hours. After sitting for the winter the clutch appeared to be stuck. I depressed and released it very quickly several times and it seemed to come around. About 10 hours of use later I noticed that the clutch pedal didn't seem to return completely, and felt different. Shrtly thereafter, the clutch began to slip. The machine barely moves forward or reverse at this point. Does this mean I have to split the tractor and replace the engine clutch disk, or is there an adjustment of some sort I don't know about? How can I diagnose the issue?

If you have a loader on your 1720 the clutch access/inspection hole should be behind the left FEL mount verticle post.
You will need to remove the FEL to see the hole.

Thank you! I will look tomorrow. I appreciate the direction.

Did it come with the little block of wood to keep the clutch depressed when not using. My 2120 & 1710 did.

A clutch block can be made from any scrap piece of 2 x 4.

And I believe the owners manual mentions how to fashion that piece of wood yourself.

I removed the FEL but don't see any inspection cover. Do I have to remove the horizontal post the FEL was mounted to? Also, do I have to drain the oil to do the inspection?
