Good morning!!!!

   / Good morning!!!! #80,281
Just sent new helper home, we both were wiped out from hard work in hot sun.
Took us three to four attempts per bush, even doublewrapping chain, but finally got three large
azalea bushes pulled from front of house and replaced with roses.
Now I know why they make those "grubber" chains. Of course most of the redos were because helper didn't quite understand proper
technique of locking in end of chain, kept falling off. But persistence paid off. In this picture's case, two bushes came up at same time, but fortuitous because it had to be moved anyway.
Azaleas had been there thirty years, roots got into landscaping fabric, pulled up big sections of garden along with bush.
Mostly mulch, all easy to fix. Red, yellow and red roses in front. Decluttering complete.

96 degrees and sunny out, brutal. A day to seek shade...

Right tool for the job, Drew.

Inside now. Called dealer to come get mower. Wierd. Got standard we see a lot of this around this time of year. Hey if it was fuel issues it would have cleared out with new fuel and a clean out plus filters. Not happy right now. Plus HD sent wrong screws for roof. Wahhhhhh.....

thanks Rick, they aren't expensive either...compared to hours of digging and monkeying around with slipping chains and ropes.

is it hard to get the shrub out of that tightened mass at the end? Do you have to pry it apart?
Does it come with a remote control and a beer keg cooler? :D

I wound up with the same bad link as yours, doesn't go to the grubber page, how weird.
Now a biker could wear one of those and look seriously heavy duty...

ok, let's try Amazon's link...

Happy Birthday PJ! sounds like you made the most of it.
When are you posting Chickenhead to Youtube so we can listen to it?
Just think, trip to the mailbox, checks for thousands every day from royalties.
Nothing like a day off to dream...

Hahaha ... wouldn't that be nice. Not likely, though. The royalties game is rigged, and it's definitely not in the artist's favor. Only songwriters get paid royalties. (as a note, I did write all of these songs)

One advantage independents have, though, is getting to keep a bigger chunk of the album sales. On this particular project, after production and shipping costs, I'm estimating I'll keep just over 40% of the gross sales. So, about $4 per CD sold. Digital downloads are about double that, as there are neither production nor shipping costs, only small listing fees.

I haven't started on the YouTube video yet. I'll hold off on loading that until I actually have CDs in hand. That will likely be sometime next month.

I have a couple of shorter 1/4” chains to pull post, shrubs and small trees. They have a slip hook on end that is rapped twice around item being pulled. Other end of chain has a grab hook. Hook to bucket or drawbar hooks. Larger tractors may need bigger chain. Very seldom fails to pull item out of ground.

While scanning Facebook Marketplace I found a old Montgomery Wards wet grinder. Sent a text to seller at 6 am. He replied within minutes. 1/2 hour drive to town where 300guy lives. $25 and it was mine. 1/2 hp electric motor was worth more than that. Seller ran it for me. Something did not look right. When I got home looked up a manual. Grinding wheel was running wrong direction. Fixed it. Sharpened a couple of blades. Works perfectly.

Nice score Ron. And yeah, any normal chain with a cinch loop at the end would work great, that's what I grew up with.
I did order the grubber, but the next size up, afraid of too much power in the Kubota for the smaller chain

No clue Drew? The links all work on my iPad. The one you’ve found is about 48” long while mine is about 72” long. The 48” is rated for 2000# pull force and 72” is rated for 6000# pull force.

No problem removing it from whatever you’ve pulled out. I’ve used mine with my Polaris Ranger and both tractors. The small ring will go over a 2” trailer hitch ball for pulling.

Hi folks, been doing stuff today and taking a nap, something I rarely do. Sorry to hear about the Queen of Soul. Talent is appreciated whether you like the music, politics or personality, but in her case she was just ‘Retha.

Don, nice boots, but I don’t think I could dance any better in them.

Rick and Drew, I looked at brush grubbers when I was clearing this property but never got one. My knee has been flaring again and is difficult to get up from a sitting position. May be slightly better this afternoon, but I hate taking that much prednisone, but nothing else touches it.
Oh well, getting old and all that I guess.

Supposed to go to ComicCon this Saturday, not my idea, but we shall see.
Prayers for all.
