Ford 1715
Have a Ford 1715. Original owner. A few years back, had to take the rigid fuel lines off going into the injector pump assembly. When I took the 3rd one off (one closest to the front of the tractor), there was a small metal disk or 'blank' are the only ways I would know how to describe it. Of course I was not expecting this and was in the grass when I took it apart (yeah stupid me). It fell and I couldn't find it. Put it back together and has run decent since but seems like it is guzzling fuel now and I suspect this to be the culprit. Went to the local NH dealer and they basically said I was crazy. no diagrams show any sort of object in the fuel line. Anyone have any ideas what this could've been, if it's needed and if so where can I get a replacement? Thanks in advance.

It fell off the line?? the inside of the line?? could it be the "ferrule"??
that's the part of the line that makes the seal TO/AT the inj. pump when u tighten down the line.. it should of had a hole thru it.

please look at the attachment. what you lost is part #6 or shim. That along with spring #7 establishes fuel pressure for that particular injector and causing proper atomization. Fuel can not be ignited if not properly atomized in the piston. I think you are running on 2 cylinders.

I might add that you might take another injector off, of course this time on concrete floor or a tarp under the tractor . pick the shim up and try to duplicate it as close as you can with a washer or make one . it will not be perfect but I reckon will be better than what you have.

I'm totally confused.. You sent a breakdown of the INJECTOR.. he's talking about a PUMP & I'm thinking its a LINE.???
IF it IS #6.. they are specific to each injector & set the opening pressure.. IF there isn't 1.. the fuel is washing down the cylinder.!!!
You could get close by measuring another shim.. but not real accurate.. you need a pop tester for that..

I took it that he meant injector, no worries, will see what the original poster has to say. he did talk about disassembly and I don't think he meant pump. if his gas guzzling is due to leakage at the injector fuel line then he surely would see tell tale of it.

It must not be very important.. he hasn't been back for days..??!!
He/they def. left out some VERY pertinent information..
I hate it when folks try to work on their fuel systems FIRST.. "THEN" ask for help after they screw it up!!
They don't know the terminology & it confuses those of us that do..

Sorry guys been busy. All three lines were taken off at the assembly but this piece was only on one of them. Not the injectors themselves but actually at the top of the injector pump where the rigid lines connect.

Attached are your injector pump and fuel line to the injectors. Can you identify on the drawing how far you disassemble? can you identify the piece that you lost? do you leak fuel out of the discharge pipe out of the pump?
