If I didn't have that concrete block wall on my burn pile, I'd never be so adventurous aka stupid.
Only time fire got out of pit, in fact both times, was when a paid fireman was watching it/supposed to be watching it, and in dry weather
we lit off the lawn for ten feet. When I do it I stand there with the hose for the first ten minutes. I'm no pyro but you never know when a sudden breeze will carry something hot just where you don't want it.

Friend coming over I haven't seen for awhile, going to go to an Italian restaurant in town, only one that knows how to make a real red sauce.
Living near NJ and NY, I got spoiled...

Just drank a big iced coffee, mowed for almost five hours today, nice day but plenty of exercise. I will have earned my glass of wine.

Drew, just say no to using gasoline for a fire. Even the most careful person cannot control all the variables. It is not worth it to risk your life and the life of others to burn a few gallons of gas.

I had the propane detector alarm going off in my travel trailer. Hit the reset button and it stopped. It was going again yesterday, only with alternating green green red red pattern which says it has a fault. Long story short, I reset it again and it is fine now.

When it had a fault, I looked up a replacement on Amazon, found that you can get propane detector or propane/CO detector, but it says you need to replace it every 5 years. My standard features on the trailer indicate I should have propane and CO detectors.. sure enough the smoke alarm on the ceiling has CO.

My daughter ask me, what good does a CO detector on the ceiling do? CO is heavier than air so settles down low. If the CO detector went off when you were in the trailer, you would be dead. Of course, if you are not in the trailer and open the door to go in and CO detector is going off, you are likely not to stay in there for long.

I found also a nice separate CO detector that has a 10 year battery (non replaceable) and it includes a digital thermometer. I might get one and mount it lower than smoke detector.

I been AWOL, Ellen’s mom has Alzheimer’s and there was a crises yesterday that involved the whole family, so we have been dealing with that for a couple of days. My mom is much better on the other hand.

Sold Dad's last tractor today a 40's Ferguson. When he bought it 50 years ago it was running and he bought it for $150. Sold it not running & all tires bad for same price.

My son just sent this pic of the elantra sun visor. It appears to have exploded inside. Car was parked when it happened.

Uncured foam releases fumes and can do that. There shouldn’t be uncured foam but it happens. Saw it a couple of times in 37 years of handling it. Never on a visor.

Good evening all. 80F fir the start, clear, calm. Frisky wind again today, sky stayed clear and high temp of 97F. bike ride, mowed part of lawn, trip to town, dog has **** gland issues, shopping for 1/4 by 3 1/2 quick pin, other errands. No nap
Randy, went through the Alzheimer's thing with Dad in 05 and 06. He got to the point where he could not talk :thumbdown:.
