What do you guys think about this?

I have done a little bit of research on the subject but it seems we are headed towards a world where sand and water is a precious resource.

The sand I talk about of course sand for building, Dubai is one of the largest importers of course sand but it looks like good corse sand won’t last forever.

Water, something like 75% of China’s water ways are so polluted they can not be cleaned up, something like 2 million people in China don’t have clean drinking water. Many other countries have the same issue of polluted water ways. I wonder if water in the near future will be a commodity for parts of the world and will have to be imported. I know the United States consumes a massive amount of bottled water already, when we have plenty of drinking water available in our kitchens.

Water in parts of the US is already a commodity. We looked at one place that we made an offer to purchase contingent on reviewing the deed. Found out that all the water rights had been sold previously and even if we drilled a well and pumped it our selves, we'd still have to pay for the water.

In Mississippi I get about 5 feet of rain annually, that gives me about 5 cubic feet (or about 37 gallons) per square foot of roof and my shops have 5,000 sq foot of roof. Many areas of the US won't be hurting for water.

Nest time you go to a store and see all those cases of bottled water, ask yourself where it comes from. Then do a search for some of the controversies over how much (OK little) the bottlers pay for the water from the various municipal systems they pump it from.

Ask the folks in Oregon about the laws prohibiting them from collecting that water off their own roofs.

I live in Oregon, and where I'm at, there are no restrictions for collecting and using rainwater as long as it hits a man made (roof) surface first.

Don't know about sand but the owner of 5 hour energy
has his crew working on new water purifiers for a few years that can do decent quantities from, brackish, grey,or sea water.

What they are working on with Graphene and other tech is interesting to.

Energy and water is going to split the American landscape "someday".

The humid east and the arid west. both in need of energy for heat or A/C.

I think we can work it out.

ps

Couse sand is made every day at every coast. Stone and waves , never ends....

With how we are using it, we are running out.

We can start tearing up beaches but the beaches help from land erosion, gonna run into all kinds of probs there.

Huge drawn out legal battle in California for one of the last dredge mines on the coast.

Perfect sand extracted for many decades but concerns over erosion are now in the forefront.

California also had a cement town of Davenport... shut down now... basically a one industry town.
