Why an "APP"?

Fair enough, point taken.

If someone had told me a few months ago I would be engaged in a stimulating discussion about UI design on a tractor forum I would have laughed.

Just think of all the off-tangent stuff those of us that have been here for 15+ years have participated in!

Like many things in life, I think it depends.

For example, I happen to like the TBN app on my phone. I wouldn't bother with an app on the desktop or i-pad.

I see more web sites these days that automatically detect you are using a mobile device and switch to a mobile web view. I also find that convenient, and it often eliminates the need for an app.

As an IT professional for 40+ years I've seen it go full circle from mainframes to desktops to cloud (just a fancy name for mainframe somewhere else). I see the advantage of both local data and cloud data. With that being said if we rely on cloud based data to much then when the data cable gets cut then alot of businesses are out of business.

Yahoo harrased me into accepting their app. I fought it for months but finally gave in. Since I did I find it easier to use than the browser method at least on my phone. I haven't seen any buttons move on the app.
