It started right up with the jumper cables... Now how do I get access to the switch?

I tried taking the side panel off but it wouldn't budge ... Is there more than the two bolts under the steering column?

Once you get water in the switch it makes a conductive path which may not heal when the water is removed. My guess is the switch too and when you said water I said bingo. I don't have that model tractor but on my 3 tractors that do have lights, the switch has to be on.

I'm pretty sure the 4way flashers only work with the ignition on.. the signal lights are all the time. Makes no sense to me... I would think both would be the same. I don't like the idea of someone being able to turn them on and run the battery down when I'm not around.

The owners manual says that the turn signals are only supposed to work when the ignition switch is on. But mine have always worked when it's off.

Think about your car, truck or whatever. Do the turn signals work with the ignition off? Do the hazard flashers? Ever see a disabled vehicle parked along the side of the road? Were the four ways on?

The manual even says they should only work when the ignition switch is on.. but ever since I got the tractor a few months ago they have worked with it off. I have to wonder if someone messed with the wiring? Or maybe in the ignition switch that is messed up so it's sending power when it's off? But the headlights and 4 way flashers don't work unless the ignition switch is on... I'm stumped.

Just a speculation, but could it be that automotive 4 ways are live all the time because they might be required while the vehicle is unattended, along a road while the tractor 4 ways are primarily used when traveling, and are switched to avoid accidental (or malicious) use that can run the battery down?

That would be my thought. But I would think the turn signals would be the same way. In any case the biggest problem is that the keep turning on with the switch off and running down my battery. For now I disconnected the battery until I can fix it.

If like my 6530, a screw at the top center just forward of the steering shaft, 2 per side and another at the very bottom. The first and last hold the two plastic halves together. The middle two attach to the sides to the metal frame work.
