Ah he$$, they were all good!

There was just a whole different way of writing TV back then. Even the family shows, cop shows, horror/suspense shows and comedies were done different. The effort was on the script instead of shock camera tricks.

No - Molalla1 - I grew up in a small town whose claim to fame was cowboys and Indians. As a child all my memories are of stupid, drunk, obnoxious cowboys and their equal - the indians. I finally managed to get away from this depressing situation when I went to college - I NEVER went back.

My favorite movies and actors - African Queen, Casablanca, Gladiator, Master and Commander, The Far Side of the World, The Sting, Out of Africa..............

Wow y'all going back to some good ones for sure. Can't really recall any bad one, but one of the worse I recall was "Wild wild West" and there was an episode or two of that I could be entertained by. Deadwood was one of the newer ones I really enjoyed but not sure why there was so much cursing. Did people really talk like that? I don't think so.

As a kid we used to like Rawhide, Wishbone the cantankerous cook was the star for me, second place was a youthful Clint Eastwood as Rowdy Yates, we had a teacher called Yates and he acquired the nickname.
Hated Cisco Kid who always seemed to cast a shadow on the sky behind him when sneaking across rooftops.

I liked "Wanted Dead or Alive", "Trackdown", and "Gunsmoke". "The Rifleman" was good also, as was "Death Valley Days". Oh, and I about forgot one of my favorites, "The Rebel". Nick Adams as Johnny Yuma...Johnny Cash sang the theme song.
