Might I suggest putting in a row of Arborvitae or some other Evergreenish tree that you can make into a tall hedge?

It's not that big of a deal, plus he upgraded his sprayer. For a couple of years he would sit on his field road and shoot about 150 feet to the edge of the filed; if any wind was blowing I would get it.
I mostly was trying to avoid posting my knee jerk response to the post above, as I don't want to get banned or get this thread moved or closed.

I'm not sure which side of those articles lies the most.
Most of it is crap.
Responsible chemical use has raised the living standard in this country,
the use in countries outside of the US and Europe has been sketchy at best.
But worse then chemicals is the use of human waste as fertilizer.
As is practiced in much of the "third world".

Why is that? We actively use horse, cow, goat and hog manure, all of which are mammals, the same as we are. It's among the most natural products available. Some waste disposal sites here process solid waste for soil conditioners as well.

When human waste has been "processed" usually after separation at a waste treatment site in this country their are standards and practices that are supposed to be followed. I have not kept up on these in the last several years, but it used to be that it had to be composted and part of that was allowing it to reach certain temperatures to kill most of the diseases that are passed on thru it. Most of the Ecoli outbreaks have been from human waste contamination. Also, many of the soil and plant tests on the locations using sewer sludge have shown high levels of heavy metals. So what's your poison of choice?

I'm no poop-ologist. But I think human waste has more diseases and stuff bad for people. You can buy processed waste called milorganite.

I believe you are supposed to let animal poop set for a year (compost?) before putting on crops and it's not supposed to be put on the leaves. Just on the dirt.

That's just my understanding from listening to parts of conversations from guys at work that hobby farm.

Organic standards state that you can harvest root vegetables after 120 days.

Years ago when landscaping we used a lot of septic sludge when putting in new lawns; and we also put in a lot of raised bed vegetable gardens using the same materials. Granted it was composted; but also contained a lot of industrial waste. We passed it through our bodies once; I never could see the reason to do it again. Yet as the OP just pointed out they have been using human waste for thousands of years, whereas glyphostate has only been around for about 45 years.
Personally I won't compost waste from any carnivore; it just seems counterproductive. I also like to let it set for at least a year before planting in any animal manure.
