Glyphosate - related to bee decline

It's everywhere now. Including in the body of every man, woman, and child in the world.

so is just about every other chemical used on livestock, and other items we eat/drink.

One would think by the time it leeched into the ground to reach well water, it would be diluted too much to do anything.
I would be worried like everyone's septic system leeching into well water. Then again. I changed to the good old chemical free city water system,so I have no worries ! LOL

In the end, we all gonna die from something, years ago it was lead in paint and gasoline, then radiation, etc,.

One thing about it, Ain't none of getting out of here alive, that's for sure !

You ever see the photo of Nixon, handed a glass of clear water in a wastewater treatment plant at a photo op?

He's looking at it like 'Am I supposed to sip this or what?'

The picture was a classic for a short while, but I couldn't find it recently.

I must, in the course of production, use glyphosate. I don't have a love affair with it and feel it is probably not as safe as Monsanto/Bayer would have me believe. But it works.
I would gladly switch to something proven less toxic if it worked but I haven't yet seen any of the march against Monsato types come up with any suggestions as to what will keep about 14 miles of rows of Christmas trees weed free. "A few weeds won't kill you...". Maybe so, but I still get a few weeds and experience tells me that people won't buy a tree having bald spots caused by lots of weeds. "Oh Bob, just hire some labor..." Well there aren't enough Mexicans to go around anymore; the high school kids have taken their jobs now, so the kids are out of the mix as well, and none of these sources work as cheaply as glyphosate does. Trees are expensive enough without staggering labor costs. All university studies have shown that organic Christmas trees are impractical on economic reasons.
How about artificial trees made in china with petrochemicals under Chinese environmental standards - hah.
Atrazine anyone? How about some Gramoxophone in your water.
I'd love reasonable alternatives. Have any?

I don't know many people who eat Christmas Trees, nor do I know of a tree which has been genetically modified so that you can spray an herbicide on it. I don't have a problem with responsible use of that and other pesticides, I just don't believe that it's a cure-all as Monsanto would have us believe. I've said it before; I consider GMOs to be the biggest threat out there now to our food chain.

Years ago I took a 3 credit herbicide course; the instructor stated that all Agent Orange ever caused was acne, and DDT didn't cause problems, it was the added ingredients which caused problems. That and a few other things have given me a rather cynical look toward the leaders in the pesticide field.

Oh... and did you notice the spike in egg prices a year or so ago? Yeah, that was because of Cali too.
You sure that wasn't due to the outbreak of avian flu in the midwest? Tens of millions of laying hens in egg factory farms were killed to make sure it didn't spread. Takes a good 5-6 months to get a chick to laying age. More months until they lay their expected size egg, they start small and work their way up. So figure at least 9 months between the carnage of the flu and egg production getting back to normal. In the meantime it is the age old supply/demand pricing that drove the price of eggs up ... if you could get them.

Might I suggest putting in a row of Arborvitae or some other Evergreenish tree that you can make into a tall hedge?

Just let the spruce grow!

When human waste has been "processed" usually after separation at a waste treatment site in this country their are standards and practices that are supposed to be followed. I have not kept up on these in the last several years, but it used to be that it had to be composted and part of that was allowing it to reach certain temperatures to kill most of the diseases that are passed on thru it. Most of the Ecoli outbreaks have been from human waste contamination. Also, many of the soil and plant tests on the locations using sewer sludge have shown high levels of heavy metals. So what's your poison of choice?

In my local area the guys who pump out septic tanks often just spray it on one of their out of the way fields. It smells worse than pig manure, but it does fertilize well. I don't like to think of the chemical household garbage that's in there though.
