Yes, I have also found that tillers, blowers, rotary cutters, and mowers can be hooked up much easier when on dollies and smooth concrete. :drink:

I have a wheelchair accessible van with a ramp, but what I'd really like for hauling is a modified dually pickup. I threw a link in an earlier post of a truck that makes farming VERY accessible.

You Tube has some videos of adaptive seats like you want for trucks, I may have to get something like that eventually depending on my rehabilitation. I like the lift you posted, but the cost is prohibitive at this time.

Braun and Bruno make some seats that are on a scissor type base, they also make a lift that the seat is mounted to the floor pan, cost a lot of money though.

I wish I could find it, but some years ago, some friends built a ramp for one of the TBN members to get to his cab and he had the strength to transfer from his wheel chair to seat.

Bringing my powerchair with me is a big hurdle when considering a vehicle. A powerchair accessible vehicle almost always requires a big modification to lower the floor.

Just curious why you can’t use a manual chair with knobs on the push rims that you push with the palm of your hand, are you able to do that? The reason I ask is my friend is a c5/6 and the only time he uses a power chair is when he is doing things off of hard surfaces. He drives and has a manual chair that he keeps in the truck so that he doesn’t have to load the power chair when he leaves and doesn’t have to unload it when he comes back. Without a power chair it opens a lot of avenues as far as vehicle selection and the cost of adapting one to accommodate a power chair..

Could you install an air bag suspension?

All people with paralysis are different. For instance, my hands and my triceps (push muscle) are paralyzed, but I do have almost all my sense of touch and can push with my legs to lift my weight (even stand sometimes). I have a buddy who also has a c5/6 injury and has triceps, but less bicep function. There are many nerves in the neck. I broke my neck in a dirtbike accident and most of my damage was caused by the swelling.

ALSO, I spend all my time off-road and I try to reserve my shoulders for the important work so as not to wear them out. If I lose my arms, farming is off the table.

Understood.. Yes getting the swelling down quickly is of the utmost importance. Having some leg function is priceless..

I don't see why you couldn't have the ports setup the way you need them down lower and plugged in. I would say a QH would be of some help to you, it would certainly be better than not having one. It's not easy for me to hook things to the 3pth and I have full upper body strength. The PTO shaft is by far the hardest thing I do, sometimes it takes me so long that I plan on using the tractor the following day.. I could probably install a tiny winch so that if I get the shaft in the right position I could use the winch to pull it into lock..
