This is an old thread I just stumbled upon since I wanted to do the same thing. Thanks guys!

BTW, the reason it faces forward is probably because on the shuttle version there is another shifter located next to the seat behind the loader joystick as evidenced by the blank-off plate on the HST models.

I changed it on my 2655 HST Cab. I think it is WAYY better for cab access in the adjusted position but I think the ideal handle position for actually using the loader would require the lever to be straight instead of having a bend in it. That may be my next modification but it will probably have to wait until spring.
