Both rubber rings split and came off fel tilt piston. How important are they, and how do I put them back on? Maybe I can glue them or heat them up and stick them together. Again I don't know how important they are, I assume it's just to keep dirt out.

You are talking about a rubber O-ring that is external to the FEL tilt piston and rides up/down on the chrome shaft - correct??

That O-ring it just there to knock dirt/dust off the chrome shaft - as you indicated.

I was thinking - you might be able to undo that end of the hydraulic piston and slip a new O-ring on - - but I doubt if the O-ring would go over the knuckle fitting on the end of the piston shaft.

I think I lost mine years ago OR never had any in the first place.

Messicks did a video about this not long ago. I don't have them on my ck3510se, but in the video, he says Kubota puts them on there as part of the painting process, to keep any paint from getting on/in the cylinder. They simply don't bother to remove them after. Sounds like the same type of o ring on yours?

If you really want them back on you can buy a little tube of superglue and cut a larger O=ring down to size and super glue it back together. There are O-ring kits that do the same thing for more money available.

I think Kioti does the same thing. I have those o-rings on the cylinder rods of my CK3510 SE. They have cracked and flaking orange paint on them, and it seems pretty clear they were intended only as temporary masking while the cylinders were spray painted.

Thanks, I was making sure they weren't important.

They are not critical but the extra wiper on the cylinder rod doesn't hurt a thing either.

That "extra" wiper is ineffective as a "wiper"

It extends with the rod and retracts with the rod and doesnt wipe a thing. Its not like it stays right next to the cap of the cylinder where the actual seal is.

I checked and I still have two on my rams on the FEL. They get pushed to the far end of the rod when the hydraulic cylinder compresses - and they stay there. Nothing to bring them back down the rod - no wiping action. Just a trinket - not even a pretty trinket.

As stated earlier, they are only required during painting. After that, they can come off.
