Adulting. In this instance it's a fire, some beers, talking, a walk in the woods and some making out with "over clothes petting" while under a large pine tree.

That was the precursor to when we got back to the house where the were no clothes in the way and we had the comfort of our bed to be on

We've been married 24 years, raised 3 kids and yet we are still very emotionally and physically into each other. Sometimes I give her that look like a hungry dog looking at a steak and she knows.... it's on!

I was a dealer for those in 1977.
Still have my 1977 F250 4x4 with it.
I sold them for $750 + installation back then.

Last night my wife and I went down to Beer Camp behind the house to do some adulting. I tried again to capture the ambiance light thrown by the 3 solar rope lights that I strung up.

The problem im seeing is that the rain gets in to the switch and corrodes it. I have to scrub the switch back and forth 40 or 50 times to get them to power on. Obviously they used carbon steel in the switch contact area. View attachment 575484

Try cleaning the switch extremely well then spraying the switch with Corrosion X - We use it on electronics that are outside and it works great! Also works on bearing and such.

When I did my mods, I had Sherwin Williams scan a part to get a paint match for the HF orange. I'll take a picture of the "recipe" on the can, and post later for you.

Here's the formula for the "HF Orange". I've got two quarts of it. The guy, at S-W mixed first quart using satin base, by mistake. He mixed up a second quart, using gloss base. He just gave me the quart of the satin.

I'll use the satin if I need to repaint inside of the drum.

I did a similar axle thing on a generator. Used 5/8 all thread rod and double nutted both sides of each wheel (8 nuts) so they locked together and won't back off. Tires roll on the bearings only.

The shoehorn from HF is great. It will definitely last a lifetime. 12" long, smooth stainless steel and very rugged. No way you'll ever hurt it putting boots on.

I bet they add air when they mix up a batch of tire rubber and I believe also with their inner tubes.*

But then perhaps it is a plot to have you buy a compressor.

*I 'tubbed a few of those small tires in frustration and the only difference was that they retained air for a few more weeks and generally needed airing up whenever I wished to use the device that wore them.

I'm pretty stoked about the foam floor mats. I got a pack last to toss down and think about... O went this morning and got enough to cover 8'x12' in the back of the shop.

The only gripe I have is that some are a bit thicker and others a bit thinner and the coloring is not consistent from one package to the next. It's not like it's a huge variance in thickness, but I can see it at the joints since I know it's there. My wife didn't like the color changing across the area, but that likely bothers a woman a good deal more than it does most men.

Thats the problem with HFs multiple supplier system. They are not always the exact same product. But hey once theyre dirty ya wont know the difference.

Yes, it just so happened to fit perfectly as if I set that area up around them. I did not move anything, the only issue I had was the foot of the drill press, I could have cut the foam around the cast foot, but im planning on removing those 2 26" tool box stacks and going to a US General 72" base and the 56" top chest, so that drill press is going to move towards the beer refrigerator. The refrigerator may also need to slide down a bit too make room.

Now I just need my wife to agree that spending $1,500 on the 2 new tool boxes is as necessary as I think it is.

Nice tool chest for sure! Just curious (because I am looking to expand as well) as to why you are wanting to go with a HF 72in for $1500 vs. going for two sets of Milwaukee/Husky/Dewalt 46in chests. You would save a couple hundred dollars and have 20in more width and the flexibility.

I am struggling with how to upgrade for space. I like the outlets in the top enclosure so I can plug in my rechargers and keep my batteries and 20v tools in the same spot.

I never go to Sears (out of the way for me) but when in Lowes the other day I noticed they now have Craftsman tool boxes. They have a "made in the USA with globally sourced materials" sticker on them. I assume that the casters, slides, and locks are made in China. Does that mean they bend the steel and paint the boxes in the US? I've come to the point where I just accept that if I buy a box from HF it will be damaged. Removing the cardboard to inspect it first means now I have other issues to deal with, like trying to keep it protected until I get it home.

Nice tool chest for sure! Just curious (because I am looking to expand as well) as to why you are wanting to go with a HF 72in for $1500 vs. going for two sets of Milwaukee/Husky/Dewalt 46in chests. You would save a couple hundred dollars and have 20in more width and the flexibility.

I could go with 2 x 44" US General boxes at $430 each and 2 44" US General Top boxes at $299 each (no coupons for the tops). That would be $860 for the 2 bottom chests plus $600 for the 2 tops, essentially the same price as the 72" but getting 88" total width.

Oddly, when HF says 44" or 72" they aren't talking about the drawer width, they are talking about the outside frame width. So you subtract about 4" from a 72" and get about a 68" drawer. For the 88" you have to subtract 4" x 2 or 8" leaving you about 80"of drawer space.

The 44" does come in blue....

Can you apply a 20% coupon tip the US General boxes? I'm thinking that's a big no no.
