My F3990 has gone thru regen 3 times and it has 41 hours. Doesn't take to long, less then 30 minutes or so

My B3350 tries to regen but can't always do it unless its really warm outside. Dealer said that's normal.

If I continue to work it and put a heavy load on it while regen light is on, it will die and not allow the starter to crank for 20 minutes. Dealer said they couldn't duplicate, so no help there.

If the regen is on and I put the throttle under 1500rpm (like to idle it for a bit) it will die and not allow the starter to crank for 20 minutes. Dealer said they could not duplicate so no help there.

Pretty much dealer is no help anymore and I have had it 2 years so warranty period is up. I had them come get it twice, and I towed it to them twice. Only have 150 hours on it.

All the above was under warranty, I have learned to pretty much not use the tractor if the light is on and let it run as long as needed (well over 30 minutes). It looks pretty stupid sitting in my field or on the side of the road just humming away at full throttle.

Based on this thread it sounds like the dealer will not even need to listen to me anymore since Kubota is not backing them. That is just great news, I really like knowing I am boned before it actually happens.

Out of curiosity, when will they be using DEF in these smaller engines?

Your dealer does not need to "duplicate" your symptom(s).

All they need do is connect their laptop and read the code(s).

That said, duplication could well be a way of dodging the issue.

FWIW, emissions related systems are warranted for, IIRC 3,000 hours or 5 years by federal law.

Time in for warranty does not count against the warranty period...

Depending on use... Consumer Lemon Laws might come into play?

I have had it 2 years so warranty period is up.

The emissions warranty is 5 years.

It is in your best interest to operate the tractor as instructed. Tier 4 tractors need heat, and won't be happy if you put-put your tractor around especially if its wanting to go through a regen cycle.

this gets thrown around a lot, it only applies to vehicles. Nothing else.

Seen the Magnuson Moss Warranty Act for a Quad... it applies to all consumer goods and is a Federal Statute.

It does have limitations as it applies to consumer products with warranties.

My tractor always runs full throttle doing anything. It runs a Rotary cutter for an hour or more at a time, or a PTO auger (which i used to drop over 100 poles with last summer) so its definitely "operating as instructed".

The product is defective and my local guys are ignoring it. Now they get another reason to ignore it.

No one can tell me why it dies on its own OR why it does not allow the engine to crank at all for 20 minutes. After which it operates normally.

They have put the computer on it and they tell me it says nothing is wrong.

Just a wild guess... I have had intermittent problems on my own equipment and it proved fuel related.

Nothing I own has regen... the newest is the Kubota L3800 which was just prior if memory serves...

We have 2 bought new Kubota tractors and 1 bought use RTV... so far they have proved 100% reliable and provided excellent service...
