I like my seat safety, sometimes. I think it's an essential safety feature, but it's also annoying. I didn't want to get rid of it entirely, because if I'm brush hogging and I roll the tractor, I don't want to get shredded by the rotary cutter. But, most of the time, I don't want a seat safety.

So rather than disable it, I rigged a switch to turn it on and off on demand:

There are times when the seat switch becomes a nuisance. I was particularly amused with the switch labels!

A thought about safety, maybe it should also have pilot/warning lamp for when seat safety is bypassed...

Yeah, that's the plan, when I find a good illuminated rocker switch.

If anything ever happens where your attention to and the importance of safety is ever questioned in court . Your advice and video will hang yourself .

You mean I won't be able to sue myself if I get killed because the tractor is still running? I will try to live with it.

I have done somewhat the same, with a switch which will force the tractor to start (turn over) and a switch to disable the safety gear when running. Normally these switches are off and located in a covered box, so that all the safety stuff works as designed.
This has been a pet peeve of mine for years. Before retiring, we farmed and start problems because of safety switch malfunctions was a real problem. If the manufacturers of these machines feel that these designs are so necessary, then the engineering solutions should be almost bullet proof, and one of the last things to malfunction. To do otherwise invites the owners to do as documented here and above.

Someone trying to rescue you could certainly sue you.

Manufactures have been sued since that woman laid the fuel cap/fuel gauge over the battery terminals on a JD 110 garden tractor . Manufactures have to worry more about lawyers than the owners .
