To me... looking at those pics and knowing that mowing is not a primary need... I think I would lean towards skid steer opposed to a tractor. You have a much more aggressive bucket for digging and prying. I might even consider trying to rent a small dozer to get everything into shape.
Yeah... can't seem to part with the $$ for a skid steer... yep, I looked and considered it for sure. Certainly am looking into a dozer or excavator.

Hi Paul! First make sure the width of the MX5800 will fit in all the places you want it to go (use a piece of PVC cut to length). If it will then you have the right size! I like all of your attachment choices just remember that with the LP QH you are going to be getting all LP implements that fit it. There are no standards for QHs so you may not be able to use other manufacturer's implements. You could forgo the QH and BB...getting top and tilt kit instead. The top and tilt will require the extra rear remotes, so make sure you get at least 2 for it. If you want a hydraulic angle blade and top and tilt, that is 3 remotes. I went this route over a QH and BB...will see how it works out. I have the same HR 3584 with hydraulic angle as TripleR....its a nice setup.

For stumps...absolutely wear someone else BH or excavator out. I have a M62 and I am not digging stumps much either.

If you aren't snow blowing or mowing you really dont need all of that HP. I would even look at the MX 4800 (non turbo) where you are at sea level as an option. Spend the money on implements, rear tires ballast, etc.

If considering a skid steer...I would definitely consider a tracked loader...and they get expensive quick. For that reason I think the MX4800 give you more flexibility. Rent a SS or mini-ex as needed for specific tasks.
So I was considering QH With top n tilt. Too much? The rear blade for carving out ditches and the rare snow around here. The bb for road creation and maintenance.

I did go by the dealer... Quote was...
MX5800 FEL

R4 Filled
BB3584
RB3784
TopnTilt
$37500
Purchasing a grapple from EA.
Sound like a deal?

Well the issue is if you get a hydraulic top link (Top) and hydraulic lower right link (tilt) it doesnt play so well with a QH. My Kubota dealer told me to get one or the other but not both...plus the QH will lock you into only that brand.

The TnT does make it easier to hook up to rear implements, most of the time you can raise and lower them from the back of the tractor by reaching over...but you will have to check the distance. Line up the lower left, then use the hydraulics to line up the top and right.

I cant comment on pricing for the tractor. I paid $2000 for my RB3784 with hydraulic angle. Top Tilt was about $1200 for my machine.

Flashpuppy, the main difference is the HST transmission. M series is shuttle shift only. If Paul wants HST, he cant move up to the M. On price, I saw someone price a M6060 for about $40k earlier today on the forums.

I bought the same package with 3 remotes less the B.B. (I had one already) and got a back blade with three hydros. The 60” EA Grapple is by far my most used/favorite implement. I went with loaded R1’s and have no issues. I am clearing land similar to you on our homestead. My only regret is not getting a HD bucket. If you can get one in your deal DO IT! I bent my bucket ever so slightly on a stump the first day I had it. I learned quick it has enough torque to bend the factory bucket. The MX5800 is a beast!

We thought we wanted a tracked skid steer. A friend was relocating and stored his on one of our farms; happy days or so we thought. Great for some things, not for most, it sat under the shed for most of the year we had it. In the last several years, we rented one for a week twice.

I call BS. I've had TnT & a QH on my old L3200 & new L4060. I could run the handles on the QH into the tires if tilted forward & the 3pt lowered. But it wasn't ever problematic to avoid in normal operation.

QH is a standard, at least for the appropriate Category size. I've had 4-5 QHes of various origins for various machines & projects. All of them fit. I had to tweak some of the hooks a bit & rebuild an implement or two so it would fit the QH standard.

Thanks for that info. I'm a getting older daily and could really use the QH.
