Buying Advice John Deere 110 TLB - Good Deal?

I was really hot on one of these when they came out. I have a very extensive file on the 110 dating back to that time. What killed my enthusiasm, was that this is basically a 4000 series Utility tractor. A nice machine to be sure, but not EXACTLY what is was marketed as.

The Ads showed it working along their other (Real) TLBs and said something to the effect of the next closest thing to the transmission is in our such and such dozer!

When reports surfaced about the radiator fan rubbing on the shroud, while carrying a bucket full of material over uneven terrain, I lost all respect.

So, if I now understand there are bell housing issues, it saddens me to say, I am not surprised.

My L3240 only had 900 hours but I sold it for more. The 110 is leaps and bounds stronger than my l3240 was. I'm in the market for a 310 not a 110 but id be tempted to buy that.

Did you buy it? Sounds like a great price. The bellhousing thing scares the heck out of me, though. Am I supposed to put a wrench on it every time I run it? That might not be worth the savings.

I check my 110 for loose bolts at least once a year, for the past 5 years I have not found any loose bolts

If you buy the 110, I have a nice Frontier Box Blade (BB1284) and 3pt top&tilt kit (new) for sale.

Not to hyjack but I picked one up today. Has the 3 point hitch, thumb, pretty much all I could want. Very excited, the guy also had a JD 6115M for sale. I got to check it out and drive it around a bit, man that is a lot of tractor.

I'm not sure .
There's a lot of others on this site that have more knowledge on the JD tractors than me, hopefully they can answer that.
