Harbor Freight Tools that don't suck

You guys need an intervention! I doubt many full time mechanics need that many tool cabinets.
Some of the full-time mechanics that I know call me tomorrow tools. My father and I were into competition sled pulling and drag racing for 20 some years, 1100 horsepower Pro Stock engines in our garage.I've forgotten more secrets about building horsepower than most mechanics will ever know in their life.

I'm really screwed up in the head now because of that jerk Dragon Eggs. Now I'm really reconsidering all life choices and wondering if the double stack of 44" boxes is really the best way to go.

Now I'm all screwed up in the head. I mean more so than normal....
Happy to help! :stirthepot:

I suggest the 2 x 56in vs. the 2 x 44in not for pure economic reasons, but for future expansion. Sure hate for your patriotic mosaic to be short lived because of poor planning. :mur:

Dragon I just left Harbor Freight. The problem with the 56 in bases is that I can't afford to put together the entire thing that I would need with 2x 56 inch bases and 1x 56 inch top with the aerosol cabinet under $2,000. More like $2,500 doing this way. Now, I could put that together with the 56 and the 44 and that would meet my needs with my n Pieces added on, but Harbor Freight really screwed up and the 56 and 72 are a like-for-like design while the 44 is a completely different design and sitting side by side with the 56 is going to look horrible.

so then I looked at the Forty Fours thinking maybe I should just do two of the 44 bases at 2 of the 44 tops. The problem I run into with that is that the 44s don't have enough of the wide drawers that I'm looking for to handle things like pry bars and other longer items that the 56 and the 72 will handle beautifully. I would love to do the 56 beside the 44 but to do it they would have to have the same trimming, the same height from the ground, the same height to the top of the base, and the sheet metal stampings the same. And sadly everything that I just mentioned is different between the 44 and the 56. Why in the world would Harbor Freight bastardize the 44 like this I have no clue.

The asymmetry of a 56/44 arrangement would be an assault to my '****'ytic brain.

So the 72" base and 56" top, both in red is staged at the garage door for tomorrow.

The blue ends are also staged on the the side.

I'm working 6am to 6pm so my dad is going to grab my 26' trailer tomorrow and go grab these things while I'm killing the dollars at a rapid rate.

Some dude is coming tomorrow to take my second and last tool box stack, so I'm looking pretty dang good. I'll be cash out of pocket $1,100 after selling the 2 stacks at $400 each.

Can't remember if you said you have an RK nearby or not, but they have 72s in store also.

I looked at those and I honestly feel that the HF series 2 are better laid out.

So....

Found a good use for my 18 inch magnet from HF, used it as a fence to cut with my plasma torch cutting 6 inches off 6x6 square tubing.
