Anyone going? I'll be there as usual..It's about a week earlier than usual. I'd rather be sitting in my Bow Stand but.

Ahhh too bad. If anyone ever needs free tickets just let me know. Most of the manufacturers offer me tickets to pass. Might say Miller, Might say Lincoln or Xyoping from China. Free is free and I give away a lot of them. Open offer to anyone. Next year it's Chicago and a much better show. Then Vegas Woo Hoo.

I have a friend in the Chicago area so hopefully next year I can make it a multi purpose trip. This year just ended up being too hectic, still recovering from a broken wrist and couldn't get anyone to make the trip with me.

Not that I'm in the market for anything at the moment but still like to see what's new and getting ready to come to the market.

I’ll wait for the Vegas event.

Thanks to yomax, I attended the Las Vegas show a couple years ago. I wish I had spent more time there but in the end, it cost me far more than I bargained for. I tried out the newly released Powermax 45XP, met Jim Colt and a couple of his associates and when I got home I promptly put it on my Xmas wish list.

Fat chance... but my wife totally surprised me with a nicely wrapped gift under the tree. I was totally surprised and to this day, can't believe she did that! :cloud9:
I suppose I owe her another diamond some day. :smiley_aafz:

The Atlanta show is just fine. I like it better than the Chicago one from a exhibitor side of things...much smoother and less tire kickers. Just got back from SEMA today...and had enough of Las Vegas for this year.

I thought Fab-Tech Atlanta was pretty good this year. I think an improvement would be like what they do in Chicago though. Put stamping and laser in one area, robots and plasma tables in another and the widget folks in yet another area. The show was really a mix of everything around every corner. The only thing bad I can say about the area it's in is they can not handle the flow of revelers. It was tough to get a high end meal due to the crowds. I'ts like the Hotels and Resaurants aren't ready. You had to dine late or way out. Nice town all in all though. Highlight was eating on the 71st floor of the Westin. That's where we.stayed. The glass elevator goes non stop from the 5th to the 71st floor on the outside of the building.

Yomax, You just don't know where to eat. There are plenty places near and far that can suck up the crowds. A high end meal in Atlanta is not what it is elsewhere. Nor should it be. Barbeque and Fried Chicken is some of the best eating that can be done. There are a number of nice places. I prefer to eat outside spaghetti junction as prices are better. Or you can drop down to the Restaurant at the State farmer's market.

I've been to both Chicago and Atlanta Fabtech. The Chicago one is a rough one to work. The freeman guys are more corrupt there and the cost is so high. They get bent out of shape if you use a screwdriver in your booth. In Atlanta, you do what you want, and it is much more relaxed. As far as traffic goes with serious people, I thought the Atlanta one was better. Chicago is full of tire kickers. But if you are on the other end, I can see the less compartmented design could be more difficult.

When we went to Atlanta, we stayed in the Artmore Hotel. I highly recommend it. It's a few blocks away, but about 5 minute drive over to the facility.

Could Be.. I know Chicago you can't plug in a cord or change a lightbulb due to it being all Union. I can understand BBQ or Fried Chicken but neither were on the list. I had the Concierge call a bunch of plcaes within a few miles and it was all 2 hr wait even when called at 6P. Thus the Weston 71st floor place which was 2nd to none in selection and quality. This was my 19th Fab-Tech.
