3,766 of his 10,747 posts were thank you's and he was thanked 1,999 times in 1,673 posts. What's the difference between that and a like button? It still looks like a popularity contest.
If someone posts something on here that I appreciate I should acknowledge that with a posted "thank you". I can surely muster up that much enthusiasm.
I visit a forum that uses a "thanks" icon and records the number of times you've used it keeping tally next to your post count. It's totally a popularity contest with derogatory comments made toward those that don't use it. So immature.
