Looking to buy a refurb Yanmar from them. Owners name is Steve, advertises on Portland, OR area Craigslist. Seems like a straight shooter on the phone but can't find much of anything about them on the internet, good or bad. Hoye was not familiar with them. Claims he deals in Japanese refurbs, not VN, but its a long drive for me to get there and would like to know if it's a fools errand. Any info appreciated.

Maybe he's a reseller for Coldwater, the only firm I know of in the NW that stil imports original Yanmars.

What was that scam place called out there? There was a new guy that posted about some place. He had youtube vids and everything. A big fancy metal building, nice grounds and his wife was pictured on the tractors. You had to make an appointment to see them and there was all kinds of odd red flag stuff he said and was on his site.

I just went down to look at his inventory and they look good to my untrained eye. He was adamant that they come straight from Japan after mechanics repair paint, seals, and bodywork. I put down a deposit on a 1610D which I'm picking up tomorrow, I'll let y'all know how it turns out.
The FELs aren't Coldwater units, they're Loadmaster or Vtek. Mine had a self-leveling V2a.

vtek is one of the brands on the VN recons? I guess he could just be buying the loaders from one of the big importers, but that pic of the single cylinder is how coldwater built his. The VN loaders that were labeled v2 or vtek had twin cyls.

You can bet they are Vietnam refurbs, look great but questionable quality. A big problem is mis-matched parts replacement. In 19 years of following Yanmars have never heard oi a Japanese refurb.

I know a guy named Steve, last name Elsner, that sells used tractors and implements in Dundee. He gets a lot of stuff from a local dealer that doesn’t keep trade ins due to space limitations. He also wheels and deals with private owners. Does mostly sub compact class tractors. His main job is in heavy construction.
