It's been 2 1/2 days since I started it. I've surprised that it has lasted this long.

This ^ is another troll post...I think there has been at least one post removed...it seems folks have tried to keep it as antiseptic as possible to keep it from getting sacked or sent to the peanut gallery...

When treely mentioned a "body count"...nobody said anything about him being OK with a bunch of aborted fetuses...wonder why?

I wasn't referring to you at all, sorry that you took it that way. I thought that your post was rather humorous and was trying to add to your last line. When I started the thread it was with the hope that it would be up for 24 hours to honor a man who I respect.

At 95 and out of the spotlight, I don't believe it was a publicity stunt. Both were WW2 veterans.

Say what you will about Bush Sr., he at least stuck to his gameplan when he went to the sandbox, when people were complaining (at the time) he was pulling out too early. I'd like to think his service gave him a better perspective, but I could be wrong.

Up until very recently, if you went to DC and were anywhere near the WWII memorial in the early afternoon, you stood a good chance to see Bob Dole in his wheelchair greeting WWII vets. We saw him there maybe 3-4 years ago. They said he did that often.

Yeah that's what I referenced earlier. He told the World he was only going there to push Iraq out of Kuwait. When their last troops crossed the border he called ceasefire. Our military was aggressively offensive and had plans to go to Baghdad. We had to quickly and quietly get out of Iraq.

I had to go back to Iraq twice because of that decision. But I highly respected the integrity of it.
