Hello.
I have been mulching for nearly 20 years with Bobcat machines and a CAT machine. My mulcher dealer was trying to talk me into buying a JD 332G for mulching. On paper, it has a little more power than the S770 but the s770 has a great, sealed cab and the engine compartment stays fairly clean with the optional debris kit installed.

Is anyone running a JD 332 skid steer or 333 CTL for mulching? Does the cab keep the dust out and how is the rest of the machine in the woods as far as hoses sticking out or places where a stick can get into a radiator or engine compartment?

Thanks for the help.

They are a pretty nice pressurized cab on G series machines, I would encourage you to try to get some time in the seat. The radiator is pretty much enclosed and the fan is hydraulically driven so you can option the machine with a reverse fan drive to keep it clean. My only experience is wintertime use not dusty applications but pushing snow it was a real treat to be in the newer cabs and actually being able to hear the radio without cranking it all the way up.

My cab is really comfortable so I'm pretty spoiled. Dust and keeping debris out of the engine compartment is the big thing in my area. Cedar is combustible and the dust gets really fine and clogs radiators, A/C systems and will find its way into a cab if it's not sealed up 100%.

I have a JD 320D and the cab is sealed up really good. I thing the JD machines have better access for maintenance that the Bobcats...I don’t know about the Cats. The side panels come off and the cab lifts up. You can blow everything out pretty throughly without allot of effort. I have a reversible fan, so you can press a button and blow debris from the radiator.
Bobcats have an Achilles heel in my opinion...there is a plastic grate on the right side that sticks can poke into. A friend was helping me this summer in the woods, and had a stick go in there and get his fan!
The bobcats have nice heavy side panels, but they don’t come off. I prefer the removable sides of the JD for ease of maintenance.
