I love my grapple. It has so many uses but, sometimes I find myself wishing for a grabber that is at right angles to the grapple. I want to grab something that is vertical, rather than horizontal. Is there such a thing?

I read a couple posts here on TBN about a grapple with a gimbal head. Could rotate from H to V. I think it was on a unit like Xfaxman has - a telehandler. You could send a PM to him.

Mine is a long arm tree puller, vertical only, does not rotate:

What do you want to use it on?

This is a post grapple:

Well - JMHO, but if Xfaxman doesn't know of it - it must be extremely unique, rare or non-existent. However - I pondered further. I think it was one of those tracked forestry fellers/buncher machines. Grab the tree when vertical, cut it off at the base - slowly rotate and lower the tree to a horizontal position.

Not a piece of homeowner equipment. However, if you want to see one - - John Deere 955M Feller Buncher

That vertical tree puller of yours - Xfaxman - is a real nut cracker. You are able to reach out and simply pull big trees right out of the ground?? That represents a lot of brute power.

Yep, over 6,000 pounds of lift and 7,000 pounds of push/pull, plus the boom extension force that I haven't measured.

Clamp on the tree trunk, raise up, curl down, extend the boom moving forward, then still pulling up, curl up in reverse, retract the boom and out it comes:

This guy uses his vert grapple to pick up logs with his toolcat (ssqa).

Well, after reading all these posts, I realize that I am probably asking for something that is much more than I need. Upon further thought, I realize that all I really need is to pull fence posts – T-Posts and wood posts. I see other threads about post pullers. I’ll try one of those.

a 5/8 thick piece of flat with a hole in it attached to a piece of chain used with a fel will pull post . you could even bolt it directly to a bucket and pull post without ever leaving the seat
