2009 Kubota 9540 Price/Thoughts

I never disengage the PTO at PTO engine speed on any of my tractors. Idle the engine then disengage.

I wonder how a fellow would test this tractor to ensure the PTO brake is functioning properly?

I idle the engine before backing the mower into uncut grass as I disengage the E over H PTO switch.

Mower is still turning rapidly at idle if in EPTO.

Also, the side of the tractor says "dual speed". Can you guys tell me exactly what that means? Thanks. Its a 12 Speed hydraulic shuttle if it matters. Thanks

If it says "Dual Speed" it is an HDC24.

12 speed synchro with dual range H/L plus a power shifting H/L on the shifter.

TOL 24 speed transmission.

Hi, thanks for the response. This tractor has two pairs of remotes, loaded tires and cast iron center wheel weights. I did not ask if it has a two speed PTO. When you say that, I assume you mean a 540 PTO and a 1000 PTO?
Anything in particular to look at when inspecting the tractor tomorrow? Thank you

Looked at the tractor today. They needed full price 29,900 because it hasent been fully serviced yet incase they find anything else. They order $800 in steering components due to wear already. Looks great though, shifter was tough though. Theyre going to adjust linkages as necessary and do engine and hydraulic oil also.
Previous filter says 11/12/17. Although the tractor was used as a snow contractor it痴 very clean/rust free underneath. Just had the typical kubota fade. Interior in great shape. Comes only with snow king front tires, but that will do for now. No leaks, loader and 3 point hitch tight.
Thanks again guys! Hopefully if all goes well Ill have it tricked home in a week after servicing.

I've never known for that to be available on the M9540.

"Creep gears" was available. It put the additional speeds on the bottom end. Handy for doing tasks that require high engine speed and slow ground speed.

I've never known E-PTO to be available on the M9540.

My dual speed PTO changes the speed from 540 to 1000. I have two PTO output shafts that are swapped to make the speed change. Held in place by a simple to use snap ring. Park the tractor nose downhill to prevent fluid loss. Takes less than a minute to change. Allows me to use both speeds of impliments.

One of the improvements from the M9540 to current M9960 was the transmission shift linkage. The 40 series use cables and require patience when shifting, a talent you will develop. The 60 series uses a shaft/rod linkage system that greatly improved this situation.

Congrats on your purchase!!! Anxious to hear your thoughts after putting some hours on it.

Hey guys, Ive read your responses but Im a little confused about the "Dual Speed". On the 6 Speed shifter this is also a small Orange button the shifter. The salesman that this was a "electronic clutch" to shift the tractor without using the pedal clutch. On the forum, you guys are saying its a splitter and the tractors really a 24 Speed? Can anyone please clearify
Also, EPTO I assume is economy PTO? How do I tell if it has that? The pto is a electronic knob on this model. Thank you

This would be accomplished with a 6spd trans, hi/lo range case and an electronic controlled splitter for each of the 12spds. This would be controlled by the button you mention. A very unique and valuable option. Wish mine had it.

Both dual speed power shifting 24 speed and EPTO were available on the 9540. Dual speed on cab only.
