I asked my agent for coverage for my BX. They're local, in the same town as the Kubota dealership, and were aware of KTAC. They said they'd give me a quote, but there was no way that they could beat KTAC. I left it at that.

But was it apples to apples coverage comparison? Considerable premium goes into Bodily Injury and Liability coverage, which KTAC does not offer.

Not who you are asking, but it was when I checked. I checked on coverage for the tractor itself & found worse coverage for more money.

Liability & injury coverage is covered by a seperate business policy.

This is a timely thread as my insurance is up for renewal and I've been thinking about going to KTAC. The tractor is currently on my commercial auto policy and is about $150 less than what I was quoted by Kubota; but covers my tractor only, so I would eat any losses to my implements. It sounds like Kubota is an all around better policy for my purposes.

I would still keep my current liability, which is only 65 $/year.

A KTAC policy on a new machine will replace the machine with a brand new one if it cant be repaired. A policy started on a used machine is more of a cash value type deal if I recall. I havent ever started a policy on a used machine, but know they are a bit different. Not really a problem, just something to be aware of.

If I had gotten my machine under my homeowners policy, it would have just covered private use on my property. I do side work with the machine, so that was a problem. KTAC covers the machine wherever it is (in the US I assume) & no matter if you are doing commercial or personal usage.

Hello everyone! I am the director for KTAC (and KCC) and can tell you the language on the policy is to protect KTAC from those of you with wild ideas. For example, if you modify it for tractor racing, KTAC isn't going to cover it when you flip it going 80MPH. Also, the policy only protects what you paid to insure which means you can't put thousands ($) of add-ons and expect them to be covered under a policy you only paid premium for the tractor. Get a new policy by calling us so everything is insured. In addition, the ability to investigate the equipment simply means having your local Kubota dealer take a look at it, take some pics and send them in with the estimate to repair. KTAC takes great pride in keeping Kubota customers buying orange. Even though I oversee KTAC and KCC, I am more of a tractor guy than an insurance salesman although I have plenty of insurance licenses. :) Do yourself a favor and search for all posts regarding KTAC and you will see we have an extremely high positive view from Kubota owners. Have a great New Year!!!

Well stated. I don’t think KTAC or any Insurance Company should pay for damage intentionally done by someone using equipment like it was stolen and they were going to walk away when they finished the job they were doing.

Ruined my weekend plans.

Oh darn... I wanted to buy a L4060HST, heavily modify it and use it for track racing... all while having it covered under KTAC at the same time.

Figuring if I didn't buy the cab model, I could gain some extra speed with less wind resistance... lol
