Any tried and true, long lasting fix for the sticking cable issue? I've lubed mine with the best lube I can find and I'll still have an issue if I don't use it frequently enough. Stronger spring, different cabling routing? The problem is certainly compounded by the lack of accessibility to get it properly cleaned and lubed. A direct lever would be a nice modification or retrofit.

Have you already replaced the cable in the past?

No, haven't replaced it. I've managed to get it freed up and lubed each time and it works for a while, but eventually starts to stick again.

Sounds like you'll need to replace the cable.

I had the same problem arise on my motorcycle clutch cable. No matter how much lube and cleaning, it would never perform correctly. Wound up spending the $80 to replace it. Works so smooth.

L3700 here. After a few years I couldn't get PTO to engage or if engaged, to disengage. I got a new cable from Messicks and presto, problem solved. It's best if you dismount the rear tire/wheel to do the job, not so bad.
