Snow Stupid Question: Transporting Tractor in Snow w/ Salt?

Congrats! Serial number is NN5300###, so it's definitely a 2013 production. Not sure what the N53 as far as model relates to since I haven't seen any Kioti's with that designation. I have a call out to Kioti to confirm.
I am having a lot of fun with it, mostly moving snow, slush and ice around. I moved my trailers around with a 2 inch ball mounted on the drawbar. I had to drill out the drawbar 5/8 dia hole to 3/4 to fit the ball. I am interested in what you find out, NN5200### here. Enjoy!

Good stuff! Kioti called me back, and they confirmed mine is a CK2510 HST. Said it is a 2013 production based on the N serial number, but that it痴 a 2014 model since that痴 when they started.

Anybody in a snow area exposes their tractor to salt if they clear snow near the road. That will add a lot of salt to the underside. I wash mine often but no way in winter.

The only caution that I would add is to the idea of covering it (or anything) on an open trailer. It sounds like a great idea, BUT I have had a few tarps or ties get loose and the flapping beat the crap out of the covered item so much that I wish I had not covered it!! Maybe thew shrink wrap stuff mentioned would be less likely to "flap in the wind"??? In any case stop occasionally and check on anything covered in a Tarp!

The unfortunate proplem hauling on sloppy roads is that the salt/calcium sprat will get everywhere on and in your tractor.
Myself if I was hauling my own equipment in those conditions it would get the best rinse down I could do when I got it home,
after the rinsing/washing I'd try and blow as much water off and out of the wiring harness area,
then I have a gallon jug of WD40 sitting there with a hand sprayer or pump up sprayer and I would give all my wire connectors and
wiring harness and linkage a good WD flush.

When you get home and the roads are dry, take it on the trailer to a do it yourself car wash and wash both the tractor and trailer.

What they said. I brought my little New Holland home under those conditions. I hosed it down, but rust still creeped in anywhere it could get a toehold - bucket, hydraulic fittings, grill, etc. I like the idea of washing it down well and spraying with WD40 - REPEAT. One washing won't do it!

That stuff gets in more places than you think, for longer than you think, and attacks more parts than you would think. Wash, REPEAT, Wash, REPEAT ....

I try to keep the tractor, trailer, and truck as free of the road treatment, as possible. I live in the middle of Kansas-everything rusts. No sense helping it go faster.

I vote for more preemptive approach.. get yourself a couple cans of Fluid film and spray that sucker down BEFORE its on the trailer, then stretch wrap it to keep it getting in as many nooks and crannies as posible.. I do that on my toolcat in fall and that stuff is still on there in spring when it gets a good bath..
