While negotiating on the PW I took a look under the hood of a 2018 Jeep Rubicon. I can honestly say - they will need a plumber on staff - just to get past all the plumbing and have access to the spark plugs. The service manager attempted to relieve my fears - "they don't even consider changing spark plugs until after 100,000 miles". Woopy do.....

dnw64 - so I go to Amp Research. Looking for the Beststep. The tech refers me to RealTruck.com. They seem to only have the step that mounts on the SIDE of the bed - not the tailgate area. I shall continue the search. I DO NOT intend to enter the bed of the Taco Wagon like I do the F-150. Lay on the tailgate - wriggle like a snake - finally have access. The other method - step up on the rear bumper - step over the closed tailgate - hope your foot on the rear bumper doesn't slip. OH - double ouch.

I linked directly to it on Amazon in my original post mentioning it above. I have a 4th gen 2500 Ram so that should be the same part number as you need. By the way, it is called 'Bedstep', not 'Beststep'.

The step I'm referring to is mounted under the left corner of the rear bumper and lifts out of the way to a nearly flush position where it is all but invisible. Very easy to operate to lower it and raise it.

Here it is on the manufacturer web site (part #75306-01A):

AH - so, I googled Amp Research. I shall go to your original post and click on the link. Thanks for the reminder - BB1.

OK - so with Amazons careful check of fitment - "will not fit due to dual exhausts on the 2018 Ram 2500 Power Wagon".

Maybe I'll just use my plastic folding step stool. Cost - $0 Fitment - 100% Storage - bed of pickup. With the PW cargo management system I can restrict it to the last two feet of the bed. I'll be able to reach it there. No need for the long handled hoe.

But I can tell you - hoes come in handy.

A 2018 Power Wagon doesn't have dual exhaust, does it? Any picture I've seen shows a single right exit exhaust like that on my 2017 6.4L Hemi 2500.

Well - I'll let you know when I get it. Kind of like the "length of the bed". Corporate spec sheet lists the bed as 6.0 feet. Even the custom tonneau companies doubted that fact. So - a tech at Corporate headquarters went out measured one. Email back - bed is 6'4".

Call amp directly. I’m 99% sure they have one that will fit. Amazon’s fitment tool is trash, trash, trash.

Which specific Bedstep product number were you looking at when you got the message about not fitting? I went back to Amazon, added a 2018 Ram 2500 with 'Power Wagon' trim and it shows that it fits fine. The product number you need is 75306-01A. Perhaps you were looking at a different Bedstep part number that was intended for a 1500 or a 3rd gen 2500 or a Chevy or something.

Yeah - I suppose underhood will be just about the same. As far as the bedstep - I did find one that fit. Think it a model of BedStep 2. I'm getting weary looking at all the tonneau covers available... I think I might wait for the tonneau until this summer. It so D**N cold outside now. And its not just the temps - its our humidity - 93% right now.

I'm beginning to figure out what SiriusXM has to do with the PW. Music, sports, comedy, news, traffic alerts, remote control of security system/remote security alerts... things I really don't need. Besides, it fairly expensive. I'll just have to wait and see. Just like Apple Play. Free subscriptions will give me a chance to evaluate.

Yeah - I can hear you guys now. He spends $58K and won't spring for $375 per year for the two systems. Well, first I have to deal with all the stuff that comes on the vehicle. Prior to trying to deal with new programs. Again - the free trial periods will give a good idea if they are really that important.

I believe Bedstep 2 is a side-of-bed step, not the one at the rear under the corner of the bumper.

This is the one you need (unless for some reason your PW ends up with dual exhaust):
