Rototiller fiasco

I have never had problems with returning items to TSC. Most of the time they can find the receipt in the system. Agree take it back to TSC and let them replace it. Should be no freight if shipped to store. If they ordered the replacement, they should already have everything. I would not try to repair anything still under warranty. How much time between the delivery of the tiller and taking it back?

I always use a credit card for this reason. They can take it back and issue a full refund or I so not pay the charge and let the CC company deal with them.

Tillers with oil having leaks common. My KK tiller came grease filled everywhere, end case and gearbox. At AGCO we fought corn head seal leakage during our development program finally giving in to to John Deere solution which solved our problem 100%. A corn head eats up about 40 HP per row so those gearboxes take quite a beating.

Contest the purchase AND ALL shipping charges with CC company.
I bought a gate opener from TSC some years ago for $599. I then noticed it on their website for $499. When I contacted them I was told they don't match internet prices. The gate opener was junk too!

MAYBE with cheapo tillers ?, but I bought three Howards and to this day they do NOT leak even a drop of oil...

Nor does my JD, and it looks like it went thru WWIII. Looked that way when I got it...when I bought my first (used) tractor the dealer threw it in as part of the deal. Works fine, just all beat up.

It could be that your Deere tiller is a re-badged Howard... For a time, Deere was buying their tillers from Howard...

My tiller from TSC does not leak a lick either.
