The dealer says prices will increase 5% as of April 1st. We will look to make this purchase in March. There are some items that may be tweaked. I am on the fence about the backhoe. I can make great use of it, but it's very expensive. I will also be paying cash for a Farmi JL351P in May.

Anyone in VT, NY, NH, ME or MA have any input?

Any input is greatly appreciated and I love to hear what people think of their own machines no matter where they reside!

I can comment on the backhoe on that tractor and it is a very nice setup that you will use way more than you think. I would buy the backhoe with the L2501.

R1 rears come on two piece wheel assemblies. Can you get near the track width you want without buying $500 spacers?

My advice is to contact at least 3 other dealers that sell this machine in your area and get the same quote. You will know if you are getting a good deal or not.

The only thing holding me back is cost at this point. It puts me outside of the price range I'm looking for, but comments like this are reassuring. The backhoe appears to be one of the most impactful implements one can buy. I'm going to do what I can to swing it!

Will do. Good, simple advice. This first quote comes from a dealer highly trusted and very close to home. If another dealer comes in lower, I can always ask Essex Equipment to match.

You can flip ag wheels and centers to wind up pretty wide. Find an owner's manual from someone here or a shop manual at the dealer and it will tell you the widest width (center of tire to center of tire) you can come up with. Might be on line or in sales literature too. That width ought to be enough for most any terrain or you really shouldn't be on that slope with an ag tractor. I don't like loading tires, and prefer weights, but either provides serious added stability. If it's too severe of a slope, you likely shouldn't be there.

Well said. I will take a look around. This would be a good cost to cut. You are absolutely right about staying away from severe terrain. I hope to make the winch (and snatch blocks) my best friend(s) in those situations.

I found this from an L3200 that I think is the same as the L2501 but you need to check it out. Rears are 11.2x24"

It comes up with a rear width of 55.1" to 62.2" edge to edge. Fronts are non reversible.
A backhoe in the woods can make it less stable on slopes.
