So here's my sunday. Cleaning time. I put the oil filter from gearbox in a bath of diesel to clean it. It shows 2 clear holes in the copper net. Not sure if i can fix this...

I started cleaning the outside of differential, basically to be able to see oil leakage whenever this machine will start running again. I really don't understand why they create so many holes and openings. Probably for strength or something. Also cleaned the gearbox top, in and outside. The inside will need compressed air to blow out the little parts, i will try to get one next weekend. I took some of my gasket paper to have a play with this...

Here is where i expect to be in trouble. How did i never see this? The left side of the rear of differential is pretty damaged. Two holes for the big bolts are completely gone. My guess is that this was caused by the way previous owner(s) connected the excavator/backhoe to the tractor, with the weight generating so much pull on the back that is actually broke off. There are actually movies on youtube where people are warning about connecting a backhoe to a mini-tractor, because of damage. The two bolts can still be put inside there, but for any 3-point operation that generates horizontal backward pull on the structure i will have to be careful. Bummer....

I also had a good look inside the engine from below. Here everything looks ok to me, cannot see any damage or sludge on the housing or other parts. If anyone sees anything strange then please tell me? Also i see a number inside the engine housing, beginning with '75'. Any idea what this is?

Started to clean the new 3-point hydraulic casing. The inside is looking ok, besides a little rust. The outside could use some paint to make it look nice.

Last part is cleaning the oil pan. I let it bleed out for 24 hours, but still there was 1 centimeter of sludge on the bottom. So it was good to take it out. Today i will drop the pan to some tractor shop close by, and ask them if they can remove the bolt. I am not the first to change the oil like this, i found 4 (or 5?) layers of gaskets, all different. I hope the pan is still completely straight, because of all the different gaskets used. Also they used some liquid gasket, i should try and remove this all. Somehow my local tractor shop never heard of tools to remove gaskets. Have to find a place where i can buy this. Can i use a screwdriver or a chisel to carefully remove this?

Ok so the questions for this moment are:
1. How do i clean the inside of the differential and gearbox? Can i just throw a liter of diesel, stir things up a bit, and blow everything out with compressed air?
2. Any suggestions on how to fix this oil-filter from gearbox? Or can i just take these two holes for granted?
3. Can i use paper gasket on the bottom/oilpan? I know that cylinder head gaskets cannot be paper, but does this also go for the bottom?
I'm sure i will come up with more questions. For now i am going to try and find an engine oll-filter for this 30-year old. Will be a challenge....
