Power beyond and tank ports

I believe the valve has to be a power beyond valve. Therefore you can screw in the PB fitting and run another valve down stream somewhere. I don’t think a standard valve will give you PB capabilities. Did you search the forums?

Attachment is for the Prince 5200 Auto-cycle valve. It can hopefully answer the questions about power beyond and tank lines. the valve does have power beyond option but look closely at page 6 and note that the return line must go directly to the reservoir.

yes the return goes to the tank, the PB port is next to return port. ( look at the actual picture of the valve). The inlet on your new valve is from the PB of the one already being used. The new valve will also have to be plumbed to the tank, and of course to your new lift cylinder.

Why cant use use a non PB valve? To make it simple the path of least resistance it to the return or tank line. If you dont use PB the pressure will not push or pull the hyrdraulic cylinder when you pull the lever because its easier for the oil to just go back to the tank through the return line rather than operater the cylinder.

Pb valve eliminates that.

Are you still confused?

Most commonly, a PB "capable" valve has TWO return ports. If not using PB, you can use whatever return is most convenient.

With the PB adapter....it threads into one of the tank ports and supplies down stream valves. The other tank ports is now your standard tank ports.

So without PB, one port is just blocked and one used for tank.

With PB.... BOTH ports are used. One with the PB adapter.

If you try to supply downstream valves with just a tank ports and no PB....you will likely blow the seals that seal the spools to the casting and leak profusely Everytime you use a downstream function. That's best case scenario. Worst case is you can damage, crack, or blow apart the casting.

And outlet of added valve body (downstream function) goes to "T" (tank)...

Does every valve run in series (using PB) need to return to the tank as well? Or does only the last valve need the return line?

MY understanding is any valve body that has "outlet" port has to have "return" to tank (reservoir) ... IF I'm wrong somebody will be sure to tell us....
