Mostly girls, used to say "Have a Good One". Store clerks and so forth. Now guys are saying it.

Another one, is "No Worries". I don't know about you, but I have lots.

What do people say in your neck of the woods?

When the conversation is over and I turn to leave, my valediction is "have fun."

I remember old men (30 ish) saying "have a good one" back in the late 60's. I think it was their slightly cool, rebellious dig toward all the people that said "have a good day."

Yep, the "No Worries" one worries me. Another one, "It's all good", probably isn't.

We always kidded about a town North of here, Owen Sound. Whenver I or other service people would show up, someone would always ask "they keepin ya busy?"

I always used to say "Take Care". What's that even supposed to mean?

When raising a glass with someone or a group I often say 'to temperance'.

"I could care less."

Most of these seem easy enough to understand. They are simply shortened versions of full phrases.
'Have a good one' = 'Have a good day, night, trip, etc.' It's a one size fits all expression.
'No worries' = 'Don't worry about it', or 'Have no worries, it's not a problem'.
'Take care' = 'Take care of yourself'

But 'I could care less' always makes me cringe. The next time I hear that I will try to have no worries, take care, and have a good one.

The one that irks me, is if I say "Thank you", they return with "No problem". They're basically saying that you didn't put them out very much; I would much rather hear "You're welcome". Not that it matters a whole **** of a lot, but I guess maybe people are getting away from what I consider tradition.

I get that at restaurants. Thing is, they should be saying thank you, not me. And I should be saying no problem, right?

I like beating clerks/cashiers to the punch by saying "Thanks, have a nice evening" or something similar. Then most times rather than getting the standard monotone 'Thank You" from them, they are surprised with my courtesy and have a much more genuine response. Sometimes it starts a cheerful conversation. But I'd like to think they pay my genuine courtesy forward to the next customer.
