New Guy looking at a finish mower

Look at the Caroni mowers too. After a lot of research last year I couldn’t find anything bad on the brand, simple design, rugged built, decent price, and a nice cut. Really happy with mine.

For a general yard, a brush hog leaves the grass fine. My 5' brush hog is beat to heck but leaves a pretty decent cut, only uneven because the adjuster for the right 3pt link on my tractor is rusted and adjusted crooked, haven't bothered to straighten it out... I have a 5' finish mower as well and it is about 50% faster than the 44" riding mower since the blade tip speed is better as well as 3 equal length blades instead of that stupid 13" middle blade...

As they're saying, I wouldn't have just one mower and if you do have just one a brush hog is much more versatile with a decent finish.

If you sharpen the blades on a rotary cutter, or brush hog, you get an even nicer finish if you are just cutting pasture grass.

I thought about trying to sharpen them after I cut some of the spots that are bad.

It comes with a 5footer

The finish mower would be bigger and help with cut time and cleaner cut. The 7" bush hog brand finish mower is $1650 locally.

I pick up the tractor tomorrow !

i use a woods RM 90 finish mower for most of the pastures. we cut every month or so. raise the mower to 8-12" keep the blades sharp and go to town. this only works when there is no brush

Nice. Mine is 90%+ good grass. Only a small part is brush and 2 small paddocks.

I probably will keep it 6-8 inches at most. I kept the one pasture at 3-4 inches last year or less and the grass came in nicely and the weeds all went away

If that is $1650 for a NEW seven foot Bushhog that is a steal. I can't buy a seven foot Chinese mower for that.

My six foot Agmate has been working good for me and I bought it before the tariff increases. I think I paid $1150 after sales tax a few years back. Same mower is $1392 before tax now.

Its a Sovema brand 7" finish mower for $2100. It looks nice, rear discharge. The savings on the used one tho has me seriously looking at that. I have to buy a box blade too but i am thinking about the RK brand blade 7 footer.

Got the tractor to the house.

Do you normally have to adjust the 3 point height as you go over hills with a bush hog a little bit?
The top link swivel is welded solid on it. Previous owner mowed some extreme banks and used it as a wheeler bar in case he bounced while climbing.

Looks like this forum hosts images so I'll get a picture

Out here in west Tennessee we have had a ton of rain and the ground is really soft. Bought got stuck at the bottom of a hill
