TODAYS SEAT TIME

Spent a couple hours cleaning up *another* 10 inches of snow (with a big part of the 12" we got a few days ago hanging around still).
Yes, as a matter of fact it does look just like a Hallmark card on my land right now...

Today I went down to my mother's to run the L2800 for a while. I knew that it hadn't been used since summer so brought my siphon hose, an empty fuel can and 5 gallons of winter grade diesel. I was quite surprised to find that the tank which was full the last time that I checked was nearly empty today. Looking down at the barn floor I saw where it had gone and soon discovered that the return line to the tank was disconnected; apparently the fuel slowly siphoned out through. Considering that I had to rerun the line to have enough length to put it on, I suspect that it's been off since the tractor was built in 2008.

I put the chains on and spent a couple of hours plowing around the greenhouse, as my mother may be leasing it out. The tractor is a smaller and older than my 3301. Even with the ice underneath it did a good job and I was surprised at how little the HST whines compared to mine.

I took the attached pic because my mother showed me another, much older photo of the same spot with some of my ancestors shoveling snow into a scoot hooked up to the horse. Granted there was more snow that day, but I'm sure that they spent a lot more time clearing out that same place than I did today.

Hydro whine does seem to be more pronounced on the current standard Ls. If you look at the spec sheet, all the flow ratings have been trimmed vs. the L2800's series. I wonder if they downsized the pump for cost savings and ended up with more noise as a result?

I'm bracing for another cold plowing day. Washed my overalls last night. We're expected to get a mess of snow/ice/rain, and it seems to be anybodies guess how much of each will come down over the next two days.

I did sit in a B2650 cab, and remembered why I didn't buy that model in the first place. Small tractor is small. On paper there's barely any difference between it and my L3301, but sitting in the seat it feels so much more cramped. Waiting to find a dealer with a grand L in stock that I can test drive. They're apparently hard to keep on the lot.

Snow coming tomorrow here in Vermont so got some of the clearing that I’ve been wanting to do before it comes back.

I hate it when this happens. IMG_0272.jpg

And the quick hitch was sitting on the tree trunk slope and wouldn’t drop down to disengage.

Did get a lot of clearing done though in this one area that had been overgrown for at least 50 years according to the previous owner.

Wow, you have no snow there whatsoever! I'm not even going to ask how you got in that bottom predicament, but it looks like something I would do.

I'm hoping that you got free of that tree,
so your ready for tomorrows mess.

Were you able to lock the right brake and pivot free from that one?

Yes. Kinda. It pivoted enough to allow the hitch to drop some and I lifted each side of the cutter off the pins.
